That's funny that you mention Bill Cosby. I go to the college that he graduated from and is still very involved with.

He is so full of it and himself that it's hilarious!

DO NOT get me started, LOL. I spent a LOT of time with that man and I hated every second of it...he's NOT the nice guy he tries to portray. He actually never graduated from college, did he? Other than an honorary "doctorate" that he bought? Oops...there I GOOOOO:embarasse

John Stamos :p He's still as hot today as he was.. 20 years ago when I met him.

Only two famous encounters for me:) First one I met John Travolta on the set of Urban Cowboy at Gilleys Nightclub in Pasenda, Texas (lived there in the late 70's and early 80's)

2nd one. I DANCED with Dan Ackroyd at Phillys nightclub in 1986!! (Minnesota) I was young and intoxicated and crazy at the time. He stopped in to sing a few sets with Lamont Cranston Band. A friend dared me to go up to him and give him my cycling glasses (remember the two "WIld and Crazy guys skit?) and he wore them while we danced and kept them, they were pink!!! LOL
Oh yeah, and I called my sister from the club that night and said "guess who I just danced with?" and told her and she said "yeah right, whatever, you're drunk"!! LOL and the following Monday in our local newspaper they had a review of his set with the band and she about fell over!!! HAhA

Oh my gosh..that's so funny! I don't really remember that much about him other than he was on tv....was he on like once a week or something? I'm not sure, but I remembered what he looked like (of course, the floor length mink in Reno was kind of a giveaway.....this was in around 1977 or '78)....I was so amazed being on the elevator and talking to him it never crossed my mind to ask for an autograph (not my thing anyhow)...but I thought of it afterward when I got back to my unit (he got off on the 3rd floor and I had to go up to the 4th floor)....and I was practically screaming, LOL....one of my patients heard me and she was in there b/c she'd come to SEE him but had a heart attack first...so she got to sit it out .....she wanted his autograph so badly, so I went back down to the unit he had gone to and the witch nurse at the desk there told me to "leave him alone"....even after I explained why I wanted to see him again. Geeze....I had to go back and tell the poor old lady that I couldn't find him:(

I just looked on Wikipedia- He didn't!

That's so funny! I just assumed he did because he speaks at Temple at least once or twice a semester. I've also seen him do a lot of press where he is wearing Temple hats, sweatshirts, etc.

Why would you do either of those things dropped out of college?! That makes a lot of sense.

ETA: Oops, I read on and it says he went back 6 years later. I wonder if he was famous by then.

Lol, y'all don't get too excited, I was just an extra! :p I was in the Red Rover Scene at the beginning. When they first placed up for the scene I was in the main shot, but the director determined I was too short (they actually thought I was supposed to be one of the kids playing in the sandbox I was so short!), so they moved me further down the line... but if you look VERY carefully when they pan down the line, I'm the girl that sort of steps out.

I was in another big scene, but it ended up getting cut. It showed how the girls got the rest of the $$$ for the treehouse, which was by having a backyard carnival. During the carnival the Wormer brothers turn the sprinklers on everyone. Because of that they could only shoot it a few times, and I guess none of the shots turned out that well. During the scene I have to grab Demi Moore's daughter hand (who played Samantha Albertsons little sister in the film), and run with her on the porch. I was disappointed that the scene got cut!

Overall it was a great experience, I was only in 5th grade at the time, so I wasn't really star struck. I couldn't figure out at the time why all the girls in my class thought it was just soooo cool Devon Sawa ask me to eat lunch at his table one day.

That is too funny! I am going to get the movie and pay special attention to that part! Too bad that other scene you described got cut..it sounds cool
and don't even get me started on devon sawa..omg he is one of the reasons i loved the movie!
That's so neat though, meeting all of those people!

mattymac 05-21-2008 06:01 PM

I have only met Andrew McMahon who is the lead singer of Something Corporate/Jack's Mannequin (which I'm sure no one knows!) and Jamie Kennedy.
My boyfriend has met a lot of famous people-specifically at various Apple Store openings:

Kevin Bacon
Julianne Moore
Spike Lee
Kayne West
Steve Jobs (of course)
the Bounty Hunter

there are probably more but I can't remember!

The year after I was n the movie I was completely boy crazy and LOVED him.. I just didn't know what a big deal he was at the time. I didn't even get anyone to make a pic of him and i together. He was really nice though. I wonder what ever happened to him. Does he still play in movies?

We sort of kind of 'met' Jean-Michel Jarre as they rushed us along at a autograph signing after his free outdoor RENDEZ-VOUS HOUSTON concert in 1986. It was standing room only in front of the stage, but we were the equivalent of about the 8-10th row just left of center.
He's pretty big in Europe. The music doesn't really start until about the 4:30 mark -

Rumour (her daughter), whats weird her daughter was in one of the scenes I was in and so we were playing between takes and the nanny was taking pictures of us... so weird to think their might be pictures of me somewhere in one of Demi Moore or Bruce Willis' house

I also met- Tom Hanks wife, Rosie o'donnell, Melanie Griffith, Christina Ricci, Devon Sawa, Thora Birch, and Gabby Hoffman

You got that right!!! I worked with him on one of his first shoots... I don't know if he was even 20 yet. Then I ran into him again a few years ago with his wife (forgot her name -- they're divorced now) and they were both very nice. I couldn't stop staring at him though!

Others I've worked with... James Garner (super nice guy), Michael Landon (I had a crush on him for years... told funny stories about Bonanza) John Ritter a couple of times (very nice), Pat Morita, John Travolta (very briefly), John Carridine (he was very old), Keith Carridine (he showed us his butt), Robbie Benson (his voice is to die for), Terry Bradshaw (very funny), James Brown (the football player, not the singer), Dorothy Hammill, Finola Hughes, Vicki Lawrence, Sly Stallone (his shoulders were as wide as he was tall...), Robin Williams (he's a very funny guy), Steven Spielburg, Tom Cruise (he's very nice and genuine) Katie and Suri (she's got the prettiest smile!), Isaac Hayes (wonderful, nice guy), Kirstie Alley, Keeley Shay Smith (before she married Pierce Brosnan... she was a total b&#@h!), Suzanne Sommers, Carol Duvall, Christopher Lowell, Steven Tyler... I know there's more, but I can't remember them. Should have gotten pics and autographs, but didn't.

Thanks for the thread... took me back a bit!
