Ever meet anyone famous? My neice works for a stationary store in Texas, she's been working the Dallas store. This guy came in and handed her a black American Express card so knowing that it's an elete card she looked at the name.... Jimmy Choo. He looked at her tennis shoes and was like oh no no honey. He supposedly is going to bring her a pair of shoes!!! Then she went down to Starbucks and ran into Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill). She also said that the guy from Prison Break comes in all the time and lives in the area. |
I never meet anyone famous! :( I have spotted Chyna and HHH (triple H) both from WWE wrestling about 8 years ago when they lived in my area, but other than that... noone... and I spent tons of my life in BOSTON! :( Ive been to LA and shopped on Rodeo Drive ... Ive shopped on Fifth Avenue in NY and have been to Times Square 100x.... still nothing! Im also one who never sees animals! I never see Deer grazing in a field on the side of the road, or wild turkey herds that roam my whole region... I never saw a Moose even though Ive been to the mountains in NH during moose season at peak hours a million times! Im just not LUCKY like that! Wow.. that was a RANT huh?? :) :) LOL |
I met Cyndi Lauper last year in NYC at this bar in QT Hotel! She was with her entourage. I also saw Gwen Stefani too in front of MTV studios but none of them gave me a thing! hahahaha! |
Tommy Lee Jones, Various pro wrestlers that used to play softball in the Memphis area (most of them before they moved to WWE) and I've met the current MS governor (Haley Barbour) as well as the one he replaced (Ronnie Musgrove). I've also met Susan Sarandon but I try to keep that one quiet.:thumbdown |
That is so.....neat that your niece met those people. :) For everyone else that posted, I think it's neat who you's have met also. I met Kevin James from King of Queens soon after he started that show. My SIL & my son & daughter were @ FAO Schwartz in NYC and he was shopping in there. Had 2 people with him. One looked like his body guard. I went up to him and told him I loved his show. He was very nice. I asked him if he would mind having a picture taken with me. He said that would be fine. My son took the pic of us two. I have it in a NYC frame in my living room. That was such an exciting day for me. |
Bill Murray Charles Durning Jason Lee Marley Shelton Olympia Dukakis Jason Gedrick Sr, Jr, Mikey, Vinnie, Cody, Rick--etc ;) Tess Harper Susan Sarandon Buddy Cianci Rich & Kyle Petty |
I'd love to see Chad Michael Murray:)! I've met/seen tons of famous people, but I got to pick up Ricky Nelson (I KNOW.....I'm OLD, LOL) and his people at the airport in Oakland once and chauffer him around in a limo for the few days he was in town. That was pretty fun. |

What was Kelly Ripa like? My hubby has always like her! |
I saw John Wayne and Kirk Douglas in Madrid Spain back in 1964. They had just tore up a bar and was staggering out and nearly knocked me down. John Wayne looked down at me, tipped his hat and said "excuse us little lady" and staggered on down the street. I saw Ava Gardner on several occasions while I was living in Spain. She lived there as well. I also saw Ann Margaret in Madrid around the same time I saw John Wayne and Kirk Douglas. I think they were over there filming Circus World. I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito in San Francisco when I was up there visiting one of my sons. They were filming Junior. I have seen Fess Parker several times (he lives in this area) and had my picture taken with him on one occasion at his winery. I also saw Chuck Yeagar and had pictures taken with him when he was flying at the air show at Edwards AFB, CA. He's the one who broke the sound barrier Oct.14th 1947 over Rogers Dry Lake in Southern CA. in a Bell x-1 rocket plane. If you have never seen the movie THE RIGHT STUFF then your missing out on one of the best movies ever made. It's all about that time era and the coming of the space age, Kennedy, his assination, Johnson and all. A great line up of stars and a movie once seen you will want to see over and over. Promise! It a long movie as well. |

I met Eddie Money. But the BEST was my grandma. When she was still alive.. she LOVED Elvis. My niece took her to Vegas to see Elvis and they got a front row table. He sat at her table and sang Kentucky Woman to her! She NEVER forgot that! |

Harry Connick Jr. (another good ole Louisiana boy) Patrick Swayze (when we were young and he was dancing in a recital) and i've seen and got Winked at by Antonio Banderas (on the streets of New Orleans) when they were filming Interview with the Vampire |
Worked with VP Dick Cheney (have a picture), when he was at Halliburton. Met several country singers back in the 80s - Lynn Anderson, Crystal Gale, Ronnie Millsap, Merle Haggert, Waylon Jennings, etc. Gosh, I'm getting old! |

Tommy Lee Jones was pretty cool, joked around and whatnot. |
Jimmy Choo?! and he's going to bring her shoes?!?!? I would have lost my mind and either screamed or fainted ;) Ah, that's amazing! No one will have heard of mine but when I worked in a shoe store one of the DJs from DC101 came in with his father on Easter. He's only locally famous I guess. I also met the bassist & the lead singer of Kill Hannah after one of their shows. That's it :( |
I was in the movie 'now and then' so i met: Demi Moore Rumour (her daughter), whats weird her daughter was in one of the scenes I was in and so we were playing between takes and the nanny was taking pictures of us... so weird to think their might be pictures of me somewhere in one of Demi Moore or Bruce Willis' house I also met- Tom Hanks wife, Rosie o'donnell, Melanie Griffith, Christina Ricci, Devon Sawa, Thora Birch, and Gabby Hoffman |
Well I've "SEEN" a lot of stars (living in LA) but at far as actually meeting and knowing...only psuedo stars (Big Brother houseguests - know lots of them)! :D |
He's not really a star, but if anyone remembers ACE from Real World Paris, I knew him way before he went on MTV. After RW he brought Mallory and Adam from RW paris to town and I hung out with them for a night. |
I met Elvis when he was filming a movie in Sedona!! |
I haven't but my SIL's mother has, in a sence. I am sure many of you remember Dean Martin, right? Well his mother just adored him and when he passed she went into moarning and sent many mass cards to the family in CA. One night several months later, Dena, Dean's youngest daughter called her to thank her for the many cards she sent and a friendship began. Dena keeps in touch with her and even invited and sent a limo when she was in NY last year for her book release about her father for them to come. Also there several pages telling everyone about her new friend and husband who loved her father so much. There was an awards dinner in Dean's name also and once again Dena sent a Limo to pick the two of them up and they sat at the head table and his mother started a friendship up with Tony Dansa that night too. He invited her to be on his show to tell her story but she was too timid. When his show ended last year he invited her to the last show and she sat in the audience. Cute story I think. P.S. WHen her son married my daughter they danced to "IT'S A MARSHMALLOW WORLD". They always danced to that over the years and since it was a Xmas wedding it was perfect. Of course a tape was sent to Dean so she could see it. |

This doesn't count as a "meeting", but after the tsunami, teddy bear artists all over the world were asked to creat a bear to be auctioned to send money to the child victims of the tsunami. One of the promoters asked me to make a "Peter Sellers" bear. She wanted it made as Peter Sellers, the man, not as one of his characters. I made the bear and his daughter, Sarah Sellers, who lives in the UK and owns a teddy bear shop, signed the certificate of authenticity along with me before it was auctioned. The bear can be seen on my website here Donation Bears |
Well, if you  old ladies and also are into rock, you might be interested to know that I not only met but had lunch with Jim Hendrix in the Village! He showed up in a hooded fur parka! I also have Ginger Baker's drumsticks (Cream), which he personally gave to me! :) |
I've met Johnny Depp's father at my old orthopedic surgeon's office. He was such a funny old man, and looks JUST like Johnny. Um...I've met several bands, but I imagine few people have heard of them because most of them are in "Christian" bands. But I'll name them anyway... Jon Foreman (lead singer of Switchfoot) Tim Foreman (Switchfoot) Chad Butler (Switchfoot) All the original members of Relient K. Peter Furler (My all time favorite vocalist; from the Newsboys) Phil Joel (Newsboys) Jeff Frankenstein (Newsboys) Paul Coleman (Newsboys) Duncan Phillips (Newsboys) John & Korey Cooper (Skillet) Lori Peters (Skillet) Kevin Haaland (Skillet) Ben Kasica (Skillet) Ken Steorts (Skillet) Mark Stuart (Lead singer from Audio Adrenaline; I got to sing with him!) Leigh Nash (Sixpence None the Richer) Dan Haseltine (Lead singer from Jars Of Clay) Those are probably the only people I've met that anyone here would have heard of. |
