| So sorry you had to experience it. But everything happens for a reason. The deer's fate was set before you got there. However, you gave unexpected comfort to him. Just for a brief time you were there when he needed you. We dont always understand why we are put into situations we are but I hope you find peace in knowing you did the best you could! Big hug! |

| You were the Angel that was sent to comfort him in his time of need and help him on his journey to Rainbow Bridge with kindness and compassion. God Bless you .... |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | You were there for a reason. That poor thing was not alone. There is so much sadness in the world and it's hard to see it so up close. What a kind hearted person you are. I hope you feel better knowing you did so much more than most would have.

| I don't think you realize what an amazing story YOUR story is. I used to work at a hospital that was in an area where there were lots of deer ....they were always getting hit on the road....and we were always told that if we came upon an injured deer, not to approach it but to call animal control immediately and they would deal with it. They told us that even a very injured deer, being a wild animal, would get a surge of adrenalin and could really injure you if you got in it's way. For that deer to put his face up and sniff you I think, means that he knew you were there only to help him. And thank God you were there to help him cross over. He had love until the very end, and what more can any man or animal ask for? You ARE an angel! It makes me feel so good to know that there are people like you out there! Thank you and bless you!

| You did a very brave thing. Your braveness ensured that the deer didn't die alone. Thank you for caring for the deer. I hope you feel better soon! |

| All I can think of saying is THANK YOU for doing what you did. Not many people would of stopped to help that poor deer. At least they knew love before they had passed. Like someone else said if that deer wanted to they could of hurt you pretty bad and it didnt. I read this earlier when I had gotten home from work today and thought about your story all day and was thinking of something ecouraging to post and all I could come up with was thank you and wanted to say I wish there were more like you in this world. i think it would be a better place. It really bothered me that the cop and other person just refered to that once living soul as just a carcass. But maybe we can think better of the other man and maybe he was very short on money (like alot of people are these days) and that deer helped feed his hungry family. I know not a good thought but, I try and tell myself its the circle of life

| Oh my, that is so sad. But what a blessing you were to that deer. The poor thing didn't have to die by itself. That was so touching when you said the deer sniffled your chin as you were petting it's neck. God Bless You for what you did for that sweet deer.

| I'm just now reading this. Through my tears, I was going to type that I, like all of us, was sorry that you had to go through that. But then I thought...... Not only did you help one of God's creatures leave this earth with compassion and kindness in a way that few ever experience, but your life was also changed today. I'm sure you will NEVER look at things exactly the same way. That deer's eyes will always remind you of how fragile life is and how we can help each other in so many different ways. God bless you.

| Wow. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm so very touched by your compassion. I'm so glad that deer had you with him at the end and I'm sure he was too! Sharing those last moments with the deer was a GIFT that you should cherish.

| You are all too kind and I thank you for your words of comfort. I am not, however brave nor am I an angel. I came to this forum with my story knowing that I would be completely understood. Not one of you would have done anything different from what I did and each of you would be just as upset as I was/am. Now I can tell you the rest of the story. The deer had a huge swollen belly and I imagine she was pregnant. When the truck driver stopped the first thing he said wa mmmmmm fresh meat!. God! how can people be so heartless. But that is the end of the story. Thank you all, again, for being there for me and understanding my agony. Hopefully I will be able to get over the depression soon. Little Skeeter will join our family in 11 days so I'm trying to concentrate on him and how Adie will love him and Cassie will mother him. Thanks again and God bless each and every one of you. Lou |
