Well, my husband and i are def going our seperate ways, I am drawing up a separation agreement as we speak I get primary custody! I really dont care about anything else.. My boss is moving back to New Jersey in June so I have to get a new job anyway so I want to move to Florida sometime in the next year to year in a half, I have only lived here my whole life and feel like I need to be somewhere else to fully move on and I love Fl, so anyone have any advice on moving to a new state and getting a job, etc...I have sent my resume via career builder to a few places but what else can i do? Thanks Guys you have really been there for me through this whole ordeal and i cant thank you enough

Again I'm sorry things happened the way the did for you. You seem pretty
together now and that's a good thing. Change is good. You'll do fine once
your relocated. Now with the internet you can even shop for a new place
to live. Good luck to you and I hope all your dreams come true.

That's right girl onward and upward. When I wanted to move to FL I had looked at the other firms in our same industry (Law Firms) and narrowed it down to those that had offices in FL. I contacted them by their websites. That way I knew what area I was dealing with and it made it easy because I could say I work at such and such law firm here in NY and am looking to make a move.

Go at it from that direction.

Good luck honey. His loss but you know what your young and life goes on. I do feel we have our paths to follow and no matter what we need to travel those roads. If it weren't for being with him you wouldn't have you child. So you walk away richer for the time you spent with him.

Just take it one day at a time! sounds like you are doing pretty well!
things will just take a little time, but they will fall in to place!

Thanks! I am excited, overwhelmed, and sad about moving all at the same time but deep down feel as if its what i need to do like i said in my OP I've never moved anywhere! so Its a big step for me I just hope in the positive direction..

are you a paralegal too? I already know what area.. Ft Myers, I have friends near there and I know the area pretty well so that makes it a little easier..

No I am a legal secretary....lol. I was moving to hopefully the orlando area but ended up looking at Tampa because they had more law firms down in that area.

ooh if you looking at law firms you will be fine. Go to martindalehubble and check under locations for firms in that area. You will get a good listing and you can use that as a base to get their recruiting info to send your resume.

I'm so glad to hear your taking charge of your life and doing something positive!.....I'm not saying it isn't hard for you, as I'm sure it is...Sometimes we have to suffer in the short term to benefit in the long term.....

You have a courageous journey ahead of you, and the reward will be pride, dignity, emotional health, maturity and accomplishments lay ahead for you!.....

So sorry for everything that you are going thru but everything has a way of working out. You seem to have a lot of things planned out, that's a geat start! A little it of advice that I can offer is to make a fresh start of everything. If you have had any thoughts about redecorating, this is the time. I truly believe that a fresh start is a healthy one. Good luck and best wishes with whatever you decide to do, you will do the right thing!

I think that is an awesome idea. Start brand new. I know it is hard but I think you can do it. Maybe your friends can help in the job search. I will keep you in my prayers 'cause I know you are scared and excited and sad and nervous all at the same time. I believe in you.

I think moving (to a place you love) and starting all new is a great way to go!

It'll give you such a refreshing feeling knowing that no one's gonna judge, etc...make new friends, meet new ppl, new job, new home w your son & furbutt.
