| A March for a Rainy Day http://www.dropshots.com/Kathryn_V#d...03-17/18:31:03 Ok... This is my baby girl goofing off on her... eh hemmm HALF a Sousaphone, lol its missing the bell, lol She played a song for me to record and send to a few family members.. its rushed and rough, but I just love listening to her! lol The ending is my favorite! the song is short and really wraps up nicely! Its pretty rare that a Tuba would have a nice sounding part all the way through... She has only been playing for 14 months now! I think the thing swallows her up like a boa constrictor but she loves it!!!

| Beautiful "baby" girl you have there. Yes, that tuba is as big as she is. Wow, only been playing for 14 month? That's great!

| Thank you! I'm glad someone who opened that file had something to say! LOL I'm a proud momma! Seeing her there with the big boys and theit=r tubas... its a bit much! But she holds her own! Thats stripe in her hair is new though... She is expressing her "Inner Tuba" Its an age thing I guess... I went through the weird and funky hair thing too.. As long as she stays on honer roll, she can color her hair green and pink for all I care She's a good kid! The Panthar (marrching) Band went to a festival and recived a unanimous Superior rating yesterday at Ramona High School! The rating is hard enough to get but to get it from all the judges... the kids were flying high when the bus pulled in! All those hours of listening to the off key notes here at home lol It really makes me feel good to see her so involved in something.... Now hows this for funny... Her 10 year old brother starts middle school next year and has signed up for band.... He's going to play the FLUTE! My little girl<------- TUBA My son <----------- FLUTE this is the look that everyone gives me... LOL The two of them couldn't be any more opposite!

| That's too funny - your tiny daughter in the big ole tuba (she's a DOLL by the way) and your son (not sure if he's big or not) playing the little bitty flute. What a wonderful mixed up group you got there. I think music is so great for all kids. I went to a very small school and we didn't have anyone to teach geometry so I was not able to take it. Yes, that's right I graduated high school without taking geometry - BUT we had a great music teacher. Even though I really didn't have a musical bone in my body, I had music everyday from 1-12th grade. I learned how to read music, play the piano, clarinet and sing. Your kiddos are wonderful!

| I think it's great that you encourage you kids to be themselves! Both of my sons grew up to be wonderful men, the younger one had his hair various colors, but who cares? I think good kids have to do SOMETHING different like that. As long as they know that their mom is always on their side, like you obviously are, they will turn out great. It's easy to tell by the video how happy your daughter is, and how sweet you are to her. I think it's great that your son wants to play the flute. He must be a brave guy that knows what he wants! Thanks for sharing the video

| Thanks!!! Kate read your post and said "Betsi is such a nice lady mom, she really knows you huh?" LOL I just giggled... Katelyn and Garrett are both really good kids.. I'm a very proud momma bear! Be it sports or music or even art... Keeping our kids busy and out of trouble is sooo important now a days... Trouble used to be throwing rocks at stuff... now its so much worse.. I am very thankfull for the performing arts program at her school! Her director is so amazing with those children! Kate wants to go to USC and play in their marching band! what a goal! She really inspires them! Thanks again for the kind words, she really enjoyed reading them!!
