Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | ![]() We had a bunch of them last year. Drove us nuts. I finally figured out how they were getting in and sealed it off. I was amazed that it almost eliminated them. I'll see one every now and then, but it's not bad. I called a company that specializes in ridding all unwanted animals from homes. Birds, snakes, raccoons, rats, you name it. They were too booked to help me out, but their advice: Kill them. They had me set a dozen wooden traps in the basement. They do sell live traps, but I've found they don't work very well. Kill 'em. They're dirty and they'll get into food you didn't even know was out. And they LOVE dog food.

| ![]() Yes they do love the dog food. We find dog food in the oddest places sometimes. They come in from the fiedls to get out of the cold. If you just catch and release...they will come back in. We started putting d-con under the house and since we have done this (we check them every month) we have not had any more mice in the house. Dirty little creatures.

| ![]() Well, the mouse has gone to heaven. I woke this morning to a tail hanging out of one of the traps. I love decon for making the enclosed traps for as little unpleasantness as possible. I think I figured out how he got in too, so I sealed that off as best I could. Thanks to my chat friends for calming me down, giving me advice, and making fun of me all at the same time!! ![]()

| ![]() You are so brave! A few years ago I was all settled in to watch "Scarlett". My hubby was in bed, I had the lights off, the popcorn and diet coke and I was READY. In the first 15 minutes, something ran across my feet. I moved my eyes only and spotted one of the little varmints in the middle of the floor looking at me. I FLOATED to the bedroom, woke hubby and told him to go kill it. He rolled over, looked at me and burst out laughing ![]() We caught a Mama and about 10 little baby varmints! The next weekend he spent sealing and caulking EVERYTHING. I hate 'em!!

| ![]() I am glad you got rid of the critter. We live in an older house so we get them every fall. Our exterminator comes out and puts poison down and it always kills them

| ![]() Cute video. The kids have had gerbils and hamsters. I'm always amazed that the way they "stuff their house". ![]()

| ![]() Sorry you lost one of them. I think they are very cute when confined to a tank. It's different when they are running around in my house, over my dishes and in my cabinets, and munchin on my cheerios! (yuk). I just hope he was the only one!
