| Sick fish that just wont go... This may sound mean to some of you...sorry I have this goldfish...and for about 2 weeks now he's been trying his damndest to cross to the little fish bowl in the sky...but he just WONT GO! He's at the top, floating on his side...one fin just waving at me...(I personally think he knows how much I hate him and he's giving me the one fin salute). Every so often he goes under and swims for a bit, but most of his time is spent floating on his side. I kid you not...2 weeks of this nonsence! This sucker has killed off all but 2 of my fish, eaten ( ) my snails and has generally been a thorn in my side. WTF???? Is he dying? Is he in retirement? (My retired gramps spends most of his time in this exact position...he says that he wont die because he likes giving the nurses a run for their money...his words, not mine!) I'm tempted to just flush the sucker, but as I said, he's killed off almost all my other fish and I just cant tell my daughter, yet again, that one of her fish is "at the rehab facility getting better". I swear that I'm not a mean or hateful person, but this fish is turning me into someone I'd rather not be. |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Flush him. Just kidding!!! that was so mean. I'm sorry! haha. He might have had a stroke. I had a beta fish that swam on his side for 2 years after he had a stroke. Good luck!

| Don't flush- that's just wrong. I've read (from fish experts) to use vodka. Some are against it, but then, everything has somebody for and against it. I've done it one or twice on ill fish and they seem to go pretty quickly.

| I have a Goldfish that did the same thing. I took him out of the tank and put him in his own bowl for a couple of days and he made a full recovery That was 2 months ago and he is still going strong!

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | yeahhhhh. Good luck with that! if you think he's really suffering though, go with the vodka. it's better than flushing them alive. (I still can't believe I even said that)

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | LOL! how bout this? find another fish that looks exactly like him and put that one in the tank (it shouldn't be too hard if he's a gold fish), then if he's still alive give him vodka. I probably should've off'd my fish too, because I think he was starving to death cause he couldn't get to the food, but I was too attached to him.

| It's all just so insulting. I mean, I picked this idiot out. I feed him, I keep him safe, and this is how he repays me. He just floats on his side, flipping me the bird. Every time I walk by the tank I roll my eyes and mumble things that are not appropriate for this site. No offence, but I wish he would just get the hint that he's not loved....sheesh! |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | I guess Vodka. Alcohol also works. I know this cause when i was like 5 i had fish and i started out with 13, but each day one would die. I guess whatever one had gave it to all of them. Well there were like 5 left and i was bored so i put alcohol or nailpolish remover in the water, can't remember which and they died right away. Then i felt super bad. I was only 5 lol

| I had a betta fish lay on its side for two weeks. I put medicine in the bowl and put A plant in the bowl that he could float on and in two weeks he was back to normal

| Oh, how sad. I'll take him. I hate to see anything suffering. Maybe we could do one of those rescue trains from BC to Georgia. Poor, little guy.
