I get the Depo Shot so i don't have to remember taking the pill. the good thing is i havent had period since 2002 when i got on the depo. the bad thing is it made me gained weight. especially in my face. and i can eat and still not feel hungry... i'm thinking of getting off. just been putting it off cause i dont want my period back

When I was on the pill it said if I missed one pill, then the next day you would take that days pill and the missed pill, and use backup for 7days.

Looks like you have all the answers. How can you forget it right before bedtime. OH that is when you get _______!!!!!! That would always remind me. I always took it right before bedtime. Put a sticky on your bathroom mirror or somewhere else you would look every night.

Thanks so much I really appreciate all of that information, and too I know how it feels to lose so bless your heart for all that you have been though. I am going to make an appt and discuss more options as I do not do good on the pill emotionally and physically! Thank you again!!

Girl, I think everything makes you (not you you but you know) gain weight...I feel like if its a pill, carbs, sugar...ugh...its WEIGHT...ahhh the wonderful wonders of growing up

Amber talk to your OB there is a pill called Lybrel. You take it all year no period unless you want one. Some spotting may occur for the first couple of months. Not sure bout the weight gain I'll let you know. I just started it.. But i doubt it would be as bad as the Depo. My friend took it for years she stopped taking it and had lost the 30 lbs she gained on it.

You can take both at the same time. I used to do it all the time. Now, depending on how long you've been on them, you should be okay, but they do recommend using protection.

i used the patch when i was on birthcontrol. its a good option if you dont want anything "stuck up there" and forget the pill often. i am now doing natural birthcontrol (calendar methood and basil body temp) i would highly recomend not getting the depo shot since it is one of the highest risk forms of birthcontrol. once its in you, you cant get it out...and it is also very unatural for a woman to not have a period ever...puts a huge stress on your hormones and body. just my opinion though

I love love love the Mirena IUD, i had it put in in Nov. and it hurt like heck but i havnt gained any weight so far I actually have lost a few pounds I think everyone is different the only neg side effect for me was the constant spotting the first month and I had one Acne breakout a few weeks after insertion but it cleared in a few days

you can take 2 on the same day. It says that you don't have to use protection in that case, but you can use just for peace of mind

Funny the shot used to be the higher risk but not the patch is. I tried the patch and instead of getting a period I got severe yeast infections. I stopped after 3 months.. Couldn't take it anymore. Now they say the increase of blood clots and heart attacks are up in women on the patch.. Scary scary scary...
