| I take Cymbalta. I used to take Wellbutrin because it has less side effects, but it didn't help me very much. I stopped taking my Cymbalta over Christmas break, because I thought I might be able to go without it, but I ended up feeling very "blah" and had no motivation, so I just started taking it again last week. Are you taking Wellbutrin?? Dealing with depression is no fun... Last edited by Jacoby; 01-19-2008 at 11:59 AM. |

| I will keep you of all you who are dealing with this in my prayers if anything I can do to help too, please let me know, I really mean this. I also have a friend dealing with post-partum depression is very hard to see someone you love suffer like this. I have heard that exercise work too, don't have to be really hard just a brief walk can help |

| Jenn, honey, I have been on antidepressants for years. I was on prozac for quite a few years and am on seratraline (generic for something...can't remember what ) and xanax right now. My daughter has been on prozac, lexipro (made her gain weight), cymbalta (had night sweats) and is now back on prozac again. Seems to be working for her. I just remembered what I'm on....zoloft. If you ever need a shoulder or an ear, I am here.

| I am on generic Prozac and honestly don't know how I did without it before. It has helped me so much more than I ever thought it could. I'm also here if you ever need to talk. Hugs! The natural remedies I've heard about are often questionable. The only one I know of someone actually using successfully is St. John's Wart...but the research is still out on this and since it's an herbal remedy, dosing is very iffy. Exercise is very good and so is a consistent routine. I have also found that it does me a lot of good to avoid drama in my life, and that's it's really okay to say "No, I just have too much going on right now." People will respect you for it, believe it or not.

I have a new appreciation for people who deal with depression on a regular basis - I know why I feel like I do - but there's so many out there that live their lives with depression not knowing why they feel so bad - and it's not something to take lightly. ps - jenn - if you need to talk PLEASE reach out if this thread is about you ok ???

| I am on Cymbalta....Also have Xanax for panic situations. I tried the Wellbutrin but had a weight gain which caused more emotional upset... The cymbalta seems to be working pretty good....I agree with a previous post...Routine is soooo good have...It helps me alot... Was on Fluoxetine(gen for Prozac) but after awhile I could not tell any difference...But it is working for hubby... I hope things get better for you.....If you would like to ask any other questions, I would be glad to talk... Joyce
