I know what you mean about being cheap if you get a gift. The first thing that comes to mind for me is "out of towners"! Sirico's didn't show me anything either.

| Holy crap. $300???!!!!!!!!????????? Just you and your date? No way. I'd give $150. He's your boss. He makes more than you do. I give $75 per person. So, me + date = $150. I defniitely would not give that much. If he is having it there, he doesn't need your money and you SHOULD NOT feel like you should have to cover however much he paid per head because HE CHOSE TO HAVE IT THERE!

| I would not put yourself in the hole for his wedding. He knows how much you make! So if you can afford do 300.00 if not do like 200.00. I can't imagen! I feel like a redneck hick reading and writing this...... I honestly can't imagen spending that much money on a wedding....

| Not to be an ettique freak....but....the rule of thumb is to cover the cost of dinner for yourself and your date/guest. However, if someone you are close to is having and extravagent event and you cannot afford what they have chosen to spend, you should just use your best judgement and give what you can afford to do within your budget. Your boss should know you well enough if he is inviting you to his wedding that i am sure he will appreciate whatever gift you give. Most people who I have seen get married don't get bent out of shape by the dollar amounts unless they are really cheap....like $20 or something. They are really just glad to have to you at the event. Hope this helps and have a good time!
