| My friends having problems w/ a breeder..NEED YT HELP! I didn't know if I should write this in the breeder section since it's not a yorkie breeder, so I'm writing it here. Admin feel free to move it to breeders if you want! So here's the story, as I mentioned last week my friend got a chihuaha puppy. She met up w/ the breeders daughter I believe to get the puppy, and bought her right away w/ no papers, contract, etc. She has a good heart, and believed the girl when she said she'll give them to her the following day. She basically needs the vet records, registration papers, and a contract. I told her if she already paid and the check was cashed, There's probably little she can do, but I don't want my friend to get scammed by this breeder. For the past week, it's been excuse after excuse, first her friend ended up in the hospital, then all of a sudden it turned into her son that was in the hospital, and yesterday my friend tried calling the breeder and she got no answer. Another thing that I noticed was when they first got the puppy, they told me the puppy was 8 or 10 weeks..they had 3 litters and wasn't sure which puppy the litter was from! When my friends fiance took the puppy to the vet, he estimated her to be at 6weeks!! I know, major red flag. Her main concern is the vet records so they can finish the vaccinations. I told her to tell this breeder that she NEEDS these records, how else are they going to vaccinate her puppy w/o knowing what she has and hasn't had done. My next suggestion is to show up at the breeders door and demand the papers. I know my friend should've gotten all of this before she wrote the check, but she's new to this and doesn't really know how many unethical breeders are out there. What do you guys think the next step should be? I know you guys are so good at helping those out who get scammed or screwed over on breeders, so I told her I'm posting on here to see if you guys have any suggestions. Update: OK As I'm posting this, my friend called me back and actually spoke w/ the breeder! She said they can come by tonight to get the papers, but my friend will be at work so I'm going to go w/ her fiance. Were going to try and get a contract from this breeder, I know to get the health gaurantee..I told my friend to find out what hereditary disease are known in chihuaha's, etc. and let me know. What else do I need to look for. Also, my friend mentioned that what if she gives papers for the wrong dog, how will I go about detecting this?

| Aww, I'm sorry your friend is having to deal with someone like that. I'd be surprised if she gave you a health guarantee at this point but there's no harm in asking. Good luck- I hope it works out for her.

| I think she should be very happy if she can just get the vaccination records/papers... Its seems that the person she's dealing with might be a little untrustworthy...and getting a health gaurentee and a contract at this point are kinda useless, only because she's already had the pup for more than a week... and most health gaurentees/contracts are only recognized if you have the vet examine the dog within a certain time frame (72 hrs +) But, Im by far not an expert on this stuff, but I really hope everything works out for em'

| So tonight we were going to go over and get the papers..when her fiance called the lady, she said she'd be home in an hour. He calls an hour later, no answer. The ladies husband called back and said she's not home. So About 15mins later I call, pretending I saw her ad in the paper and am interested in a puppy. She tells me there's one left, but they also have toy poodles and huskies...then how some of the pups are at her moms, or her MIL's...to me that translates that she's a broker. So she tells me the same story that her son is in the hospital, so it's hard for her to meet up but her husband can meet up with me (notice, not let me come see the pups for myself). I act like I can't decide which dog I want, that I'll have to think about it and call her back tomarrow. So the only way I'm thinking there is some hope is that she gave me, a potential buyer, yuhuj the same story of her son being in the hospital. I forgot to add, she told me she just stopped at home for 10mins, and is leaving soon..I don't believe it though. She also mentioned about meeting up, she has 2 other people she needs to get papers too and it's been hard for her to because of all that's going on. I'm assuming 1 of those persons are my friends. Tomarrow my friends fiance is calling again, and if they still get nothing then he has a police friend he's going to bring. My friends are mainly worried about the vet papers, and I guess when she spoke with the breeder(broker) today she told her she'll give her a contract. Keep your fingers crossed for them please!
