Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Does Anyone Have A Veiled Chameleon?? My 7 yr old has taken a very high intrest in the veiled chameleon, I am wondering if anyone has one here? I am getting conflicting info about how to care for one by different petstores. I could use any advice possible. First one store said i needed to hold them Daily and the other said not to hold them very much. also on feeding and care if anyone could help me i would really appreciate it.

| http://www.veiled-chameleon.com/care-sheet.html Here's one place with info and links to other sites. I'd do alot of research. Maybe even get a book on them. Good luck - I think they are so interesting and fun to watch.

| I've heard they are very hard to keep alive- not sure if that's true or not though.

| I knew a lady a long time ago that tried to breed them. I believe that they are sort of fragile. Does your little one have their heart set on a chameleon? We've had lots of lizards - most of them I don't know the names. But we had some African fat-tailed geckos that were beautiful.

| I've had a lot of experience with different types of lizards. I wouldn't reccomend a Veiled Chameleon, just because they are expensive, and a little tough to keep alive and well. I wouldn't want your son to be dissapointed if something happened to it. Bearded dragons are my absolute favorite type of lizard. They're really friendly, easy to keep alive, and they can be bred with really bright, beautiful colors. I think they are just like tiny dogs with cute little personalities.

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | He is very determined that he wants a chameleon lol, we looked at some pics yesterday of some gecko's and some bearded dragons but i think i need to see them in person. I just don't want anything that is really fast that if it got out i would have a hard time catching lol. I would be taking care of it and monitoring the chameleon but it would be his and he would help, I think i am gonna do a little more reaserch on them and some other reptiles as well, thanks for your input ladies I would love to hear from anyone else to that has experiance.you guys are great thank you!
