I've had a lot of experience with different types of lizards. I wouldn't reccomend a Veiled Chameleon, just because they are expensive, and a little tough to keep alive and well. I wouldn't want your son to be dissapointed if something happened to it. Bearded dragons are my absolute favorite type of lizard. They're really friendly, easy to keep alive, and they can be bred with really bright, beautiful colors. I think they are just like tiny dogs with cute little personalities.
