| I'm not sure which one...Lisa was arrangeing a play date at a park that friday afternoon..we're supposed to link a bunch of x-pens together so our yorkies can play. The hotel is supposed to be providing free shuttling for all of us and our dogs to the park

| I'm really bummed and sad, but I found out lastnight that my daughters dance recital is on June 20th. She is 3 and I just can't miss her first dance recital. I'd never forgive myself. I hope and pray our meetup goes well and that we have another one next year so I can go. I feel horrible for letting my yt friends down and I hope everyone understands. Have a great time without me |

!!! That's why I wasn't sure which park would be best for the meet-up! I had a few specific locations in mind though from my knowledge of the area, and we scoped them out while I was home for Christmas. Without a doubt, I think the best area for the Friday meet-up is Loose Park! Loose Park (http://www.kcmo.org/parks.nsf/web/loose) is a popular park in the Plaza area (1.64 miles from the hotel), and it is beautiful and dog-friendly. They even have poop bags provided for the doggie visitors! The hotel WILL provide the FREE shuttle for all of us and our babies to the park. The Friday meet-up is why I've requested as many x-pens as possible, so that we can hook them all together and let the babies run, while we all chit-chat and get to know each other

| The meet-up committee (Jodie, Jenn, and myself) tentatively discussed having a couple/few "speakers" at the meet-up, and I'd like to get that scheduled so it doesn't get away from me as time flies. We had mentioned having people speak on various topics such as nutrition, grooming, homecooking ideas/demo, holistic care for pets, Yorkie rescue group, etc. (obviously not ALL of these topics, but whatever you guys were most interested in). The idea was that we'd either have a knowledgeable and willing YT member speak, or a professional in the KC area if any of you have any contacts. What topics would you most like to hear about, and do you have any suggestions for who could speak to us regarding that issue? There's also the possibility of putting together a stupid pet tricks presentation if any of you would want to participate in that. Or maybe a dog-human look alike contest, or something of that nature. What do you think about that? Basically, what would you guys be most interested in for part of the day on Saturday? I figure we'll talk and shop with the vendors for most of the day, but I'm not sure how many vendors we're going to have at this point, so we may need something else to fill some of the time. This is YOUR meet-up, so I'd like to get YOUR opinions on what you'd like to see/hear |

| Lisa, I think it might be fun to also have a "best-dressed" contest. If you wanted to do something like that I would be willing to donate a coupon or something like that for a custom made dress or vest for one of the winners. I bet we could get a few donations for something like that. Or maybe even just have a "yorkie parade" for our babies. If anyone is like me, we just love to show off our babies when they are all dressed up. Also ideas for a speaker, if any of the show breeders would be there I would love to hear something about how to get into showing or how to train your dog for a show. Sonya

, but I completely understand. Moments like that come once a lifetime and you have to make sure you're there for every one of them. Hopefully you'll get to attend the next one.

Training - either trick training or any type of training....K9 see you better come to this shindig..lol. Maybe someone can come from the Kansas City area to talk about Canine Good Citizen classes or Therapy Dog Training...if you found some local dog training business or contact someone from Delta or Pet Partners regarding therapy dogs that would be great. You can find someone local I bet by going to their website. Or contact the local Humane Society and have someone talk about how to keep our babies safe, etc. Just throwin out some ideas.
