yep...definitely want to keep any potential "bad guys" out. If you think about it, this meetup is public info and anyone can see that a lot of yorkies are going to be in one location...so we really do need to be careful and keep an eye on our babies.

My thoughts EXACTLY! My hubby tells me I overanalyze these things too much, but I just want to be SAFE! I would feel terrible if I went to all this work planning this thing, and then something awful happened to one of our babies

You never know... like I said, this meetup info is out for anyone to see. People steal yorkies all the time...someone might thing our meetup is an easy target. I know people have joked about letting our yorkies run around the ballroom and around the hallways...but we need to keep an eye on our dogs at all times just to be safe.

Unless they have a special room for the YT continental breakfast, it may be hard to know who paid and who didn't. As they will be holding continental breakfast for all the guests of the hotel, and there will be others who aren't in the YT meetup.

I totally agree, I don't want to let Layla out of my sight. I was telling Cynthia that I would be scared to let Layla stay in the hotel room by herself because you never know who is watching you and your baby go into your room, then you leave with no yorkie............they would know that they are in there alone.
I know I go a little over board but I don't want anything to happen to my baby or anybody's babies!!!

The continental breakfast will be specific to our group. I have to tell them how many people we have coming, and they will prepare enough food for only that number. It will be set-up either in our hallway/vendor area, or they will put it in our meeting room.

I haven't decided who I will be bringing yet: Itzi or Cruiser or ? Maybe someone new by then?

sorry, but I really don't want to hear anything about breeding at the YT meetup...that's always a heated subject here and I don't want to get all worked up at a meetup that I'm at to have fun.

I agree. I would think a subject that has wider interest.

How about someone talking about grooming -- cuts, top knots. I know not everybody shows, but I would love to hear someone talk/demonstrate what they do for a show coat.

We are considering coming, we went to the Yorkie Fair in MI last year and really enjoyed it. Is anyone else facing a really long drive to get there, it's like 10-11hrs. for us!
We really want to come and meet and get to know more YTers, I think my Mom and I just need to convince ourselves we can make the drive and not end up in the wrong state!
