International YorkieTalk Meet-up 2008

Okay everyone! Just four days now! I'm sorry I haven't been that active on this thread, but we have been so very busy lately. I cannot wait to meet all of you! Unfortunately, my girl Callie will not be able to attend as she is pregnant and due in about 20 days. I don't want to stress her out. However, we will be traveling with one boy, Kobyashi, because he is going to Kimmie who is coming with her husband!

We are coming from Knoxville, TN and we will be doing the doggie portraits. I know I don't need to say this, but please remember to bring your cute outfits! We will have probably two (maybe three) affordable packages to offer. We are planning on setting up a scene (green astro-turf with a little white picket fence behind it with maybe a flower on the side or something). But, we haven't put it together yet. If you have any suggestions for a cute scene that you would like to see, please PM me and let me know! We aren't leaving until thursday afternoon, so we have time to get a few suggestions.

We have a mobile photography studio and we will be in our own conference room and will be taking pictures from 9 am - 12pm / 2 pm - 7 pm on Saturday. You don't need to make an appointment, but if you are the super organized type of person like I am (most of the time), then you can PM me if you want to and we'll work with you.

Also, we will be taking candid shots of everything and offering them on CD. Since we'll be taking candid pictures through Sunday, the CD's will be have to be shipped. There will be a sign up sheet in our conference room if you would like to have sent to you. I promise, they will be inexpensive.

If anyone has any questions about the process of taking pictures or whatever, please feel free to PM me. I know we're having a decent turnout and can't wait to get busy!!

I wil try my best to stay active on the board a little bit more when I have some time. Around here, its always go go GO!

OH *** PS - I know a lot of you have seen our portraits posted on various threads of the site, but if you want to see more examples in this thread, please let me know. Also, we recently changed our business name, and our new name is Oodle Photography. It was AllPet Photography, but we've gone through some changes, thus the new name. Let me know if you'd like to see new examples of our work!

i am in tears here. there is no way i can go, we have been hit with storm after storm and i have frantically tried to clean up from the damage but there is still more work to do. i really needed this vacation and most of all i was looking foward to meeting everyone and their yorkies. i will make a donation instead of buying raffle tickets to try to help out that way. i am just sick to my stomach about this. why cant i ever get a break?

Aww I'm so sorry to hear that But I understand-the midwest has been hit by storm after storm! We've had a lot of flooding here in Iowa too-we were lucky that we are far enough from downtown and have been fortunate not to have water in our basement (knock on wood). You will definitely be missed-we'll be thinking of you and praying that your home is fixed up and back to normal soon.

OH NO!!! So sorry to hear that you have been hit with the storms. Hopefully you will get a break in the weather. I have seen the pics on the news.
I REALLY am disappointed that I won't meet you in person this week, but do understand that you have obligations to your home & family. Take care of them..... if you do find that you are able to get things in order and still make it to KC, that would be terrific. If not, you will be missed.
Thinking of you and praying that the weather in Wisconsin (and all the others in the midwest) lets up.

......... it is storming here now....... Hope that it doesn't get too nasty. Has anyone got any info on the weather situation in KC?? Have they had any problems with flooding or weather damage?
It has been so awful in parts of the midwest. Our area had some terrible flooding years ago, and it was really a terrible situation.... so many without homes and treasured belongings lost and damaged. We were fortunate, but those close to rivers and streams were not.

Let's say some extra prayers out there for our YT'ers that live in these damage areas.... and also for safe travels for the ones going to KC.

It rained (not stormed, just mild rain) over night in and around KC but today is in the 70s, and they are forecasting tomorrow 81 and Wed 83, sunny both days. I haven't heard anything about rain between now and Wed, will keep an ear out for the weather and let you know what they are thinking it will do. I've said a prayer or two for a nice weekend, hope that helps and will also be thinking of and praying for our YT members affected by the weather.

there was hope of going until the last storm hit us with straight line winds of 75 mph. the flooding was getting under control but that last one hit fast and hard. so now there is more work to do outside again grrrr. inside all we have left to do is cut some drywall out of the basement ( its already molding) and outside there is still the roof, fences, gutters and drain tiles. the yard has been to wet to do anything but they say we have 3-4 days of dry weather so lets hope we can get to the things that need to be repaired before more rain.

i have sent you a pm did you get it? i am so sorry, i cant believe i cant go. this was finally something i got to do that i really wanted to and now i cant. if we had not gotten that last storm i would have had things pretty much under control and we worked most of the week end trying to get things done but its not enough for me to feel right about leaving. i cant stand that i am backing out of something i have committed to but right now i dont have a choice.

I am so sorry you won't be able to attend, but don't worry about making a donation to help out. The hotel is no longer holding us to our minimums, so we will be ok with money, and it sounds like you could probably use it at home for your repairs. If you would just like to make a donation to include with the money we send to the Yorkie rescue, that is completely up to you, and you can let me know. But you certainly don't need to since you need it for your family! Good luck on your repairs. Here's hoping for no more rain for you guys! I'll go ahead and remove you from the registration list .
