| permanent make up My friends mother is being trained to apply/tatoo eyeliner and lips. While she is being certified she is offering to do this for free with her certified trainer present. A lot have signed up to do this but i am too chicken. Any one have this done?? positive or negative? How much pain is there? I know it is quite expensive and this would be for free! |

| My ex daughter in law's mother had eyeliner and her lips done. She had an allergic reaction to the eyeliner that was pretty severe and to be honest, I really can't tell a difference with the lips.

| My mom has gotten her eyeliner, eyebrows and lips done and she said the only one that hurt most was the eyeliner because it's so close to your eyes lol.. I got my eyebrows done and i love it.. because my eyebrows are so thin i'd have to draw them in everyday, so i got tired of it and it was the best thing i've done cuts my makeup doin in half lol |

| I never had it done but my mother in law and my aunt have, one did her eyeliner and she said it hurt but not too bad. she did look like she got into a fight the next day, swollen and bruised eyes. she loves it and feels it was worth the pain. My aunt did her eyes and lip liner. unlike my MIL my aunts eyes were swollen and she had discomfort but not as bad. her lips did swell. I guess its different for everyone. good luck im sure it will be ok :-)

| I would love to have my eyeliner permenantly done, but I would just worry what if eyeliner is considered ugly in 10 or 20 yrs? Makeup and fashion trends do change.

| i think it fades with time, and you need to retouch, my mom had it done years ago and it still looks alright, it depends on your body and how much you absorb the ink etc. |

| Wow thanks for all the input!!! i never thought about having it done until i heard the word FREE but regardless i just dont like the idea of the swelling and any pain/infection that might be involved-- i am too chicken...but i might go and watch her do a few of my friends!! Then maybe i will. But my lips break out when i use chap stick-- isnt that crazy? I do wear lipstick with no problems. And i apply eyeliner every day---o decisions decisions... If i do i will post a before and after pic - i promise. |

| I see a lot of old people that dont wear make up anymore. It looks so severe to have this tatooed on...and no make up. it is for life...just keep that in mind! |

| Last year for Christmas.....we got my mother-in-law permanent eyeliner. It was rather expensive.... and hers is already fading!!!!! Plus she had to go back twice for a touch up. I am not sure it was worth it. Perhaps the person that did hers did not know what they were doing.

| i don't have pictures of my eyebrows anymore when i just got them done (and they were kinda thick at first becuse of the swelling) I had really thin, thin eyebrows because i was a dummy when i was in 6th grade and shaved them off and it hasn't grown back since (in the first picture -- wahh i was so skinny this was before my 1st daughter in 05).. 2nd picture is of me now, just a few days ago (don't mind my pregnant fat face lol), but my eyebrows are a bit thicker/darker now, but i guess the flash you can barely tell the difference, but mind you i absorbed the ink fairly well but at the same time it's starting to fade a little bit, but i think i like how it is now because i dont have to draw them on at all.. i wake up and presto my eyebrows are there lol.. the picture wouldn't attach, but this is me before my eyebrows: http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/1189/xtine1oz3.jpg and attached is me now lol Last edited by xtine; 11-29-2007 at 08:33 PM. My furkids Donating Member | I have a couple of tattoos and yes it was uncomfortable to have them done...and they are not on my face. I do know some people that have had eyebrows, and eyeliner done. Like some have said, it can fade and sometimes not evenly so you end up either having it done again or using eyeliner over it. I do know a girl that has to have her eyebrows done and they did her eyeliner for free. Her eyeliner is now gone and she has had to have her eyebrows done again. I have been told that it is very painful to have eyeliner and lips done. Good luck to you if you decide to do this

| Well I had it done, and I wouldn't recommned it at all. My eyeliner runs under one eye, because the women hit a vein, and it bled through. My lips were done three times, and none of them stuck. The color always came out. Does it hurt? Say YES! You feel like your eyes are going to fall out. I'd never had it done again.
