I never had it done but my mother in law and my aunt have,one did her eyeliner and she said it hurt but not too bad. she did look like she got into a fight the next day, swollen and bruised eyes. she loves it and feels it was worth the pain. My aunt did her eyes and lip liner. unlike my MIL my aunts eyes were swollen and she had discomfort but not as bad. her lips did swell. I guess its different for everyone. good luck im sure it will be ok :-)
