| Is your Gramms an active 70? Otherwise a kitten could be too much to handle. Maine Coons are great cats, affectionate, sweet, beautiful coats and big puffy tail - but they shed alot

| even if she is not an active 70, you might want to look into an older cat, like a rescue or something. i noticed on your location it says krakow. do you mean canada, or krakow, poland?

| My daughter has a maincoon and he is huge, friendly, fluffy, devoted to my daughter and thank goodness, he doesn't shed. She got him as a rescue when he was just a baby and we've had him for 4 years. My best friend got a main coon when her husband died a year ago because she liked my daughters so much. She also got a rescue that was several years old and she loves him very much. He also is totally devoted to her and doesn't shed. |

| I don't have Main Coons but they are beautiful, BIG cats. They are the largest breed of cats I believe and they can have dog-like personalities. If you are looking for a purebred cat, be sure to go through a reputable show breeder - there are kitten mills just like puppy mills. If you are looking for a certain type of personality in a cat, a good breeder will be able to match you up with a kitten that has the personality you're looking for. When I got my newest Himalayan, I told her breeder exactly what type of personality I was wanting and that I wanted her to get along with Lacy and she picked Sophie out of a litter of 7 for me...and she's worked out beautifully. I got Sophie when she was a few days short of 5 months old and I LOVED having a slightly older kitten..just made things so much easier. Most breeders will have some retired show cats that they are looking to place as well so that might be a great option for you.

| I received this in my e-mail today from someone who is rehoming their Main Coon. I don't know if they'd be willing to ship him or not, but if you might be interested, I can give you his owner's e-mail address. Here was the info about him: He is approximately 6 years old, strictly indoor, neutered, and is declawed on all four paws. He is very affectionate, loving, and easygoing. I am looking to place him in a new home because one of our dogs is a little rough with him and he does nothing to avoid the situation (part of his easygoing nature). Because of this, Catboy (original, I know) is separated in a different room for a majority of the day w/ his companion Catgirl. Catgirl, being a recovering feral cat and having street experience, is slightly smarter in that she does not allow herself to be caught. I feel it's unfair to Catboy to keep him in the room b/c he is a very social cat. He gets along w/ dogs, obviously a little too well, and I think he would be fine w/ other cats

| This is Roxy, my SIL's cat.She was a kitten rescue, she is part maine coon and sheds like crazy. She acts like a dog, is about the same size as Chip and they like to play together.

My furkids Donating Member | I have had a Maine Coon for 12 yrs now. He is a very big boy 22 lbs. The breeder that I bought him from has a supreme grand champion that weighed 25 lbs...He was gorgeous!! Mckenzi sheds but, in clumps. He was much more friendly when he was younger. He is getting to be a grumpy old man now. The girls terrorize him awful! He is an indoor cat so he doesn't have many places to go to get away from them. But, he has smacked them a couple of times...
