| My mobile grooming My mobile grooming is going really great! I have been kept pretty busy with it. For the past month I have been getting calls like crazy. Usually I'm semi booked for the following by the end of the current week but I don't have any customers for next week. That was when I was hoping the most to have a solid booked week for financial reasons. I ran a special online through a classified ad for $5 per dog if booked for the next couple of weeks. I don't want to sound desperate but I want to attract some new customers. What is some good creative ideas? I have my cards out and about and I have flyers out too. Hmmm...trying to put my thinking cap on.

| No real ideas for you unless you want to pop on down to Florida and do my three. Good luck with your new business!

Maybe have a special after 10 grooms, get the 11th free. Or you could even put a coupon in the paper for $5 off. How much are you normally charging? | |

Yea I was thinking about something like that as well. I am charging for a Yorkie $25 if they are within our city limits and $30 for surrounding cities. Do you think that's high? I paid $25 for Tilly to get groomed before I started grooming and she wasn't mobile. I just don't want to rip anyone off.

| I need a magic grooming van! Just poof and I'm in a city. That would be really mobile.

YT 2000 Club Member | Will the local vet offices let you leave flyers in their waiting room? also I would check around and see if your library or churches have a bulletin board that you could put a few up on. Good luck! |

| Really? I didn't know since I'm new at it if people would pay much. I did a Shih Tzu for $25 is that too cheap? I did a cocker spaniel for $30, and a cat for $35. I have no clue what to charge.

| I think (I don't have my checkbook with me) that I pay $27 apiece for Coby (Yorkie) and Reggie (Shi Tzu) plus I usually give a $5 tip per dog. So if I didn't even have to take them anywhere, I'd be willing to pay more (or tip bigger).

| You know - what about an introductory price to get your clientele built up? I know you don't want to turn people off by too high prices, but you also don't want to set your long range prices too low so you don't make it. So how about advertising "new client" prices good for the next three months or through 2007 or something like that. That's what the wireless and internet people do.... give you a low price for so long and then put you on the normal price plan.

Yeah I supply everything. I have a grooming table and a portable tub. Since I'm still learning it takes about 2 hours to do a dog. Most of my customers have been really pleased that they can sit on the sofa and watch me groom. I just clean up my mess when I'm done.
