| Maybe you could run a special to attract more people in? I sure wished you lived closer, I'd love to have a groomer who comes to my home. I haven't seen anything like that here. Do you have flyers at vets' offices and pet stores?

| I have something at the vets but I don't know if petsmart and petco let you do that since they have grooming services. They are the only pet stores around me.

| Oh awesome idea. I pay $35 for Alphy and tip $10 because I love them and the attention he gets. They are great. I'd totally pay more the for convenience of someone coming to my home who was good with my dogs. I'd expect to pay at least $40 for Alphy and more for Abby. Good luck with your venture. I like the ideas of the introductory price and/or the buy 10 get one free or something like that.

| I think your price is very fair, and like the idea of giving so much off after so many grooms. Can you put up flyers in Petco, Petsmart, etc. with 5.00 off the first grooming, or and add in one of those free newspapers that they send out everyweek.

Thanks! I love that idea! When we get some extra money I'm going to call the newspaper to see how much it would cost to run a special in the paper, like a coupon or something.

| The mobile groomer that is in my area charges $50 - I'll have to check the site and see what it says to make sure - I looked into it, but haven't tried it yet |

| I think you should definitely charge more. Here it is $35 for a yorkie groom (maltese, shih tzu),$41 for a poodle or Bichon, and like $40-something for a cocker. That includes a bath, cleaning out the ears, expressing the anal glands, nail trim, and groom. If they are matted, it's more. BTW - these are store grooming prices, not mobile. Mobile grooming prices are normally higher than store grooming because you are coming to them...and you're having to pay for gas. Here is a link to a mobile pet grooming service in dallas, tx. you could always call them and ask for a few price quotes to get an idea of what other mobile groomers charge. http://www.petlove.com/html/prices.html

So for example, if you raised your prices beginning in 2008, you could consider any of your 2007 customers as your original base and either not raise their rates or raise them very modestly as a "thank you" to them. It definitely gives you favor in their eyes - so the appreciation goes both ways. I think you're doing a good job getting started.... you just need to be creative and fair.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | I think your charge is very fair, i think you may even charge more. Is mobile grooming where you go to their house and groom them there? Or you do it in a van or something? Idk cause in the city we don't have that. I know groomers here charge like $60 for a Yorkie from what i've heard. But i live in a big city so i can understand why you would charge less cause you live in a small town. I think your price is reasonably. And i agree with what someone said about a special. You should maybe have a free groom after someone gets their dog groomed 5 or 10 times. Where i get my eyebrows done they have that. They give me a card and write down everytime i go in and after the 10th time i get a free one. Good luck!
