| well the water is Lake Superior which is notoriously cold (when i lived in the Soo we couldn't go in until august.. it was just THAT cold) but out at Batchewana (where we had our roast.. about 1 hour north of the soo) the water is so shallow for about 30 feet that it gets heated up and was SO warm... i had water shoes in so i could go out as far as Layla wanted to... she was in heaven!!! and it is SO clean! |

| Looks like a blast!!!! It's so great she gets to go along with you. I'm from the country and we used to have deer roasts. The deer would hang all day from a tree and then they would put it in the big roaster!!

| Marci, loved the pictures. Oh, and those Soo "Beach" pictures are grand. I miss Superior, I haven't been up there in years. Lk Mich is cold but it's a real experience to dive into Superior, takes your breath away!!! Yummy......Pig-on-a-Stick....nothing like it. Layla is so fearless, she's a real water baby. Thanks for sharing your trip.

| Ok, I can't resist...where is the apple in the poor piggy's mouth?? Marci, you make me homesick for the good old Northern Ontario scenery. I'm originally from North Bay but did a lot of growing up in Marten River so I truely appreciate the fall and it's beautiful colors!! Lorraine and the Monkeyboyz (sedrick and Doogan) |

| Marci, Those pics of you and your family and Layla are wonderful! I agree...the pig roast is gross (vegetarian here!) but, I'm glad you posted the pic so we knew you REALLY went to a pig roast rather than a spa and to the mall for the weekend! I love the pic of your mom-it's cute, even though she's disgusted! Miss Layla is a fishy! I'm so glad she loves swimming-just like Milli! Looks like you guys had a great weekend!

I SO need to take my babies to the beach now that I have their retractable leashes...they can "run free" without actually "running free" if you know what I mean I know that they would just LOVE to play in the water

| In the south, pigs are often cooked for barbecue...but no head! And they are split...so it looks more like something from the butcher shop. Also, they are cooked in a pit, not on a spit. In all, it is a lot less intimidating. They are cooked for many hours and are delicious!
