| Ms Hermionie Lee This is my girl and she's 3 years old....Ms Hermionie Lee...aka Miney, Miner Baby, Meemer Mimer Momer....I adopted her from a family that thought she needed too much attention and that just wasn't working for them. I have always loved small dogs...But this is my first experience with a Yorkie. She's so precious...I don't know how I ever got along without her. We were blessed enough to buy our own home this past September and it was actually only around the corner from the house we were living in at the time....Well I had Miney on her leash going for a walk and she saw a stray dog looks to be some sort of poodle around her size...the growl a bit and we keep walking...well the little "GUY" as I find out later runs up near us and Miney tries to chase him....SHE PULLS RIGHT OUT OF HER COLLAR....and yes she was in heat at the time. I go running in my slippers and loose them through a yard so I run in to get my shoes. I start looking around the house and yelling hoping she will come back and then I hear her crying a little in the back yard....OMG there they were..."stuck" That was October 5....I had never seen anything like this in person I was in shock..So needless to say my miney will be a momma soon she's on her 54 day from what I gather. I am clueless when it comes to this basically...I was near a chi mix about 6 or so years ago when she delivered, but there was no need to take an active role in the event. I am also not up to speed on many or even any Yorkie terms and things like that....I do not have registered papers for my girl...she's my beauty no matter what *no it wasn't planned at all *yes I wanted her to have atleast 1 litter,in the future.... but I did want them to be Yorkie of course *Yes she has been to the Vet which wasn't a very helpful experience...I don't really know what I was looking for lol lol as long as my Miney is in good health that's all that matters; She told me to read up on all I can study study and that's how I ended up here.

| Get rid of the collar and buy a harness -- they are safer for the dog and will stay on much better. Go to this thread, entitled "New to the Breeding PRocess" http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ighlight=links and read #3 where all the links are given -- you can continue your study there. Sell your puppies with spay/neuter contracts or keep them until the vet will safely neuter/spay before you sell them. Good luck with a safe and smooth delivery and finding homes for the little ones.

| Welcome to YT! Ms Hermionie Lee is a beauty and I totally understand your concern, especially since this situation wasn't planned. I haven't experienced nor even witnessed the birthing process, so I have no advice in that area. I would agree with the no collar suggestion. Because of the delicate trachea of the Yorkie, we have never, ever put anything on Toto's neck. We, instead, always use a harness ... we find that the "step in" harness is easier to use. Good luck and do keep us posted on her progress! We have very knowledgeable breeders here that are always anxious to help and we all love, love babies too, regardless of their "heritage"!
