| How do you get your yorkie to like there carrier Ok, I got Maddie a carrier and she's not too thrilled about it. I felt cruel when I put her in it cause at first she was trying to get out. Then I put a few pieces of her dry food in there for her. She didnt whine or anything but I felt like I was being mean. How can I get her to like it and see that is not something bad. I think she was scared of it or something. After I put the dry food in it I walked around the house carrying it with her in it and she didnt make a sound. I was worried that she was in there scared to death??? Any suggestions. Maybe I'm just over reacting and maybe she is just fine with it????? I dont know. Let me know what you think. Here is a pic of the one I got. It was only $21.96 that was with shipping. Its made really good. I got it at Pacificpetshop.com I went back on there today and there website says that they are no longer taking orders??? humm but if you like this one and google it you will find in on other websites. Its made by GiGi Olivia - they have tons of cheap carriers Last edited by DENISE517; 07-20-2006 at 04:56 AM. |

| Does the carrier have any mesh for ventilation and so your baby can see out? |

| I have the same type of carrier, just a different pattern. See the picture below. I got from eBay for around the same price and it's a lot bigger than I needed but I like to give Diamond a lot of room in there. I put treats in the little pouch and give them to her every now and then. I also put one of her towels in there that stays in her crate when she sleeps. I think your baby will get used to it after a couple times...it's like trial & error. Try using it for the first couple times for 15-30 minutes and then go longer. Good Luck!

| Something you could try which is what I did for Murphy is to set the purse on the floor and put a treat in it or a chew stick in it and allow her to go in it on her own. I did this with Murphy several days in a row. He would go in it sit in it and I would say "Good Boy" and give him a treat. Than I moved him up to giving him something to occupy his time in the bag like a Nylabone. He would just chew on it in his bag. Now when I get it our or put it on the floor he is in it because he knows we are going somewhere it is quite funny.

| Why would you post a picture of the carrier? People with pet carrier addictions, like myself, did not need to see that. Now I need to buy one, ha. That is VERY CUTE! Anyway, that was my worry when I bought 2 carriers before I brought Phoebe home. And all I've done is just put her in there and walk around with her in them. She LOVES them. It took 1 or 2 times for her to get used to but they will. DH told me just yesterday that he was looking all over the house for her and couldn't find her. After 10min of looking, he walked past one of her carriers and there she was...in there playing! Gotta love it. Don't worry, yours will get used to it soon enough

| Oscar was a little nervous the first few times too - actually worked himself up to the point of throwing up once. BUT, it took him virtually no time at all to adjust and now he LOVES it. I think he figured out that the alternative to going with mummy in the bag was to stay home alone! Now I just have to set the bag on the floor and he walks right in and is ready to go! Your baby will be fine, sounds like she's already adjusting to it nicely.

| I think it just takes time. Soon your baby will realize that the carrier means going WITH you when you leave. Jaxon knows when we grab his carrier and he gets SO excited!! I now just have to say 'in the bag' and he hops right in.
