Hi Everyone,
I have a 1 yr old malt/poo named Snuggles and a 5 month old yorkie named Hershey ther both males...Snuggles has always been a really good
dog really mellow he hasnt been fixed yet an still has never picked his leg up to pee or humped or anything of the things that pups do when there not fixed...On the other hand Hershey is another story

and here comes Hershey looking for Snuggles head to hump

i dont know way his fav. thing to hump is Snuggle head i you would think he would fine a toy or someone's leg to hump but not his brothers head...Lucky for me Hershey kinda knows were he needs to pee but it doenst save me from cleaning cuz he picks his leg up and pee's all over the wall...That just drives me crazy

...What can i do to stop him from doin this things??????

i've heard when a male dog humps another they do it to show dominance. my 3 yr old male yorkie has a shi/poo friend and they like to hump each other. their lipsticks stay in. so i think it's a dominace issue. they also hump each others heads. weird.... maybe belly bands will help with indoor marking.

its a sign of dominance. the younger dog is trying to dominate your older dog. I would have him fixed. he's old enough for it to be done now.

Yeah i should take him to get fixed but dont they snap there jewels and if thats what they do to them...Then he still dont have any for them to snap ...Thats funny how the smaller the puppy is the bigger they think they are

here i wrote this in another thread about neutering. this is basically what occurs: the testicles are completely removed in a neuter. They can't just snip them because all the hormones will still be left behind and all the bad traits of an unneutered male will come out (ie marking, humping, peeing on everything, aggression). Neutering a male is a very simple procecure. I've assisted with them more times then i can count. It usually takes about 15 minutes. The puppy is sedated, shaved, and prep'd for surgery. The vet makes one tiny incision, and pushes each testicle thru it. The cords are cut and the tesitcles are removed. The cords are then tied off so they don't bleed and then put back into the body. Then the layers of skin and muscle are stitched back up, and wha-la, dog is neutered. LOL ok so there may be a few more steps but that's the gist of it. the puppy is really only sedated for 15-25 minutes. its much easier to neuter a male then spay a female.
