| Anyone's Yorkie this Attached? I dropped Otis off at my boyfriend's house for about four hours. My boyfriend said Otis sat and stared at the door for the entire four hours I was gone, waiting and waiting for me. My boyfriend couldn't do anything to divert Otis's attention. Otis would rather wait by the door than play. When I heard that, my heart just melted. Where else can you find such loyalty? What does your Yorkie do when you leave? |

| Awww, poor little Otis! Dave says that when I leave he tries to get them to play fetch (their favorite) or something and they absolutely aren't interested. The last time I came home, they both went for a ball and brought it to me within minutes of my walking through the door - I guess they were showing him who's boss around here!

| Schatzie is getting someone better when I leave and will hang out with my husband...But for awhile she did the same thing as Otis and sit by the door. Yes, very heartbreaking yet sweet from their such devotion!

| Separation Anxieties Our yorkie has MAJOR separation anxieties!!! To the extreme! The other day, I took Sully to the court house while covering my beat to visit the sweet ladies in the Chancery and Circuit courts. While I gathered the records I needed in the Circuit court, I let the ladies nextdoor "dogsit" him - they were thrilled to do it (the office shared a wall, literally about 10 feet away). I could hear him WHINING through the wall! They said he didn't stop crying the whole time. And he ran to the wall and sat by it to be as "close" to me as possible. I could hear him whining. Bless his little heart, he's a mamma's boy!

| chachi and Jewels usually sleep when we are gone. However they won't let anyone hold them. So I don't think they would do well if we left them with someone else.

| Lexi is ok to stay with my husband and I have never left her with anyone else. She does try to go with me and will sit by the door for a few minutes but then she'll play with my husband. I have to say though, now I'm sad at the thought that she might sit and wait for me to return when I leave and my husband isn't home.

| Simon sleeps while I'm gone but I have to make sure to wear him out first with lots of playing. Hallie though is a whole different story. She was abused and neglected by her previous owners and is completely attached to me. When she knows I'm leaving (which she has figured out) she starts to shake and whimper really quiet. It is the most heartbreaking thing I have ever seen. |

| They do get sooooo attached. Kodah is just starting to get a little more attached to me than my husband, simply because I am with her all day. Our last Yorkie, Mocha, would sit on the back of the sofa & watch for me until I got home. If someone let her outside, she would wait at the end of the driveway & knew my car when she saw it! If we were ever out of town, it would drive my kids crazy because she would sit in the living room & cry all night for me - eventually she would sleep with one of my girls if we were gone for several days. I could hardly stand thinking about her doing this while I was gone!!! & I found myself staying home because of her! I think that is one reason we are seriously looking at getting another puppy to raise alongside Kodah - so they have each other when we are gone!! They are just like having permanent two-year-old kids! |

| My husband told me that when I leave, Luigi goes crazy looking for me all over the house. After bout an hour he goes into our bedroom and climbs into the dirty clothes hamper (its not real tall and has no top) and falls asleep. So one day I put Luig to the test. We were playing and threw the ball into the other room. When he ran I went and hid in the bath tub!!! Luigi came back to the room and my hubby told him "She went bye-bye" He ran all over the place. It was sooo funny. I only hid a few mins cuz I felt quilty. So came out! He gave me a head tilt when he saw me!! Then he jumped up!!! But he was looking all over me and whining at the same time!!!! | Poor guys! Just how often do you leave Otis alone or put him in someone else's care? Yoda totally used to be like that and just sulk and wait near the door if Mommy wasn't around. But now he just sleeps! |

| When someone else is home and I leave, Stewie sits by the door. If he is home alone he sleeps. He will not let me out of his sight when we're home together. I was visiting my mom and stepdad tonight; Stewie was OUT COLD on my mom's lap and she was stroking him. I was sitting by the door of the living room and snuck quietly into the kitchen. My mom said he jumped up the second I got up and started looking around frantically. He LEAPED off of her lap and ran as fast as he could through the hall, peeking into each room on the way to where I was. It kind of annoys me because everyone in my family is extremely willing to love him up. I just want a break sometimes.
