| Good News! My breeder just informed me that she has 2-4week old puppies(males) from a previous litter that will be available in about 4-6 weeks..... so if I wanted to get one of those or wait on the litter that's due in about a week I could... only thing is she said that these will most likely be around 3-4 lbs.. which will be very small.... is this a good size for them... I am meeting them this weekend and would like to know this before falling in love with one of them... the litter that's due in a couple of weeks the mother/father are around 5-6 lbs.. so judging from them the puppies will probably be around that size too! Any suggestions, are greatly appreciated as I'll have one sooner than what was first anticipated

| There's quite a few Yorkie parents here with 3-4 lbs Yorkies. I don't quite know if it's a myth or not, but I have heard from many places that the smaller ones are more suspectible to health issues. That said, I believe there are many 3-4 pound Yorkies that live long, fulfilling lives. |

| If you have small children at home, I'd recommend waiting and getting the bigger ones, that extra one or two pounds can really help

| Sebastian is 10 weeks old and weighs 1 lb 12 oz. the breeder told me he will be between 3-4 pounds and we took him to the vet yesterday and the doc said he was in super health. Size is up to you really. I have 4 children with a 2 year old being my youngest and they are great with him. My son is constantly being supervised and we taught him well before we got the puppy how to pet him gently. |

| I think it depends on your situation. If you have a busy household (like mine) with people and kids running around you may want to get a bigger one. There is a big difference between 3 and 6 pounds if they are accidentally dropped or stepped on. If you have less craziness or are going to be able to watch them like a hawk then a little one would be fine. Personally I love the little ones but chose to get a bigger one for my own peace of mind. If you are going to see some this weekend I get the feeling you will have one picked out before you leave and it won't matter. They are irresistible!

| mine is 3.5 lbs My Yorkie, Charlie, is a tiny, weighing in at 3.5 lbs. He is very healthy, so far, (knock on wood) and he is the most wonderful little pet! You have to be careful, of course, around kids and around the house, but I really don't think that size is an issue. He is really playful, loves going up to big dogs on the street, and gets along really well with my 14 lb pug, who is a terror at times! I think the size of the dog doesn't matter, so much as the health. You'll know if it's a healthy puppy when you see it! Should be playful, bright eyes, etc... I really can't say that my Charlie has had to have special care or more trips to the vet because of his size. I had a 6 lb Yorkie before and they are still quite delicate. His personality was much different than Charlie's and he had a lot of separation anxiety and was very timid. You just gotta use common sense. Supervise the little Yorkie with kids and bigger dogs and he/she should be fine. |

| I'm soo excited, getting baby soon! I am sooo excited...we met with the breeder this past weekend and met the babies(their mom and dad- whom both seemed eager they had visitors, too)... 3 girls and 1 boy... well, my daughter went for one of the girls and I fell in love with the boy... he's 4weeks and just about 1lb and was just adorable. I couldn't put him down.. then of course the war was on - my daughter wanted the girl and I wanted the boy... so finally after some convincing she too, fell in love with him... so ladies and gentlemen... KIZMET will be coming home with us on APRIL 30TH.....I can't wait until then.. and of course my digital camera's battery went out on me so all I had was my camera phone.... hope you can see him... looking forward giving you guys updates on his progress.

| Maybe I might have misunderstood her...when she was referring to weight.. could she have been stating 1lb when I pick him up... honestly I don't know for sure.. after all questions were answered satisfactory.. I was more in tune to the puppy... will call later and get an exact weight just to make sure.. thanks for the feedback

| My opinion... the size doesnt' really matter... my yorkie weighs 8 pounds and she's still "little" to me... i can still scoop her up with one hand. she's small enough to sit on my lap when i drive or sit at the dinner table or computer desk... she likes to sit on the kitchen counter while i wash dishes too! I wouldn't trade her for any other in the world! she's my little princess. and her size is just right to me. I would say if anything more consideration is needed on the pups personality.

| Honey, I agree. My last yorkie weighed 11 pounds and he was the best dog I've ever had. He had the greatest personality. You could just feel the happiness. Everyone loved him.
