| Completely upset Well I know there are mothers among the group so I'm sure you will understand my frustration with this story...I'll try not to be long winded with this but.....I go out of town and leave my darling pepper with my 19 year old son......well long story short....without my permission tried to do a "home groom" and completely mutilated my dog! in an attempt to fix it he took her to our local groomers to urgently get her to fix it...well she was too far gone and the only thing she could do was to TAKE IT ALL OFF!!!!! yes you heard me correct...she had to completely remove most of her long flowing coat!!!!!!! Does anyone know how long it would take to grow this back???? I'm so upset I cannot even look at my son!!! |

| It will be a while before she has a long coat but she will have a cute puppy cut in a few weeks. In the meantime give her lots of love, these dogs know when we are upset and she may think she did something wrong. She has a beautiful face and coloring. Post photos every month so we can all see the change. PS. At least it's summer and her new do will keep her cooler. |

| Pepper is beautiful. I would probably buy a few t-shirts and dresses for her so that she is not too chilled in air conditioning.

| I'm sure your son is feeling terrible. Your little one is still adorable. Time to step back and let the bad energy flow away and take some time before you talk with you son. Remember, his heart was in a good place but his scissors didn't cooperate.

| I'm sure it will be grown back by your parole date. Yes, I has 2 grown sons and an 18 yr old daughter so believe me I know.......

| Thanks everyone......you all are right......I was just SHOCKED and upset that he would try to do such a thing. Yes she is still my little "peppie poo" and i will love her regardless....its just so short i didn't know how long it would take to get her back to normal.......I doubt he will do this again as he saw how sad i was after i saw it.........My precious baby has no clue whats going on and I now give her a cuddly blanket when she goes into her crate. If this is the worst thing my 19 year old has done so far....I guess i can deal with it....could have been worse, lol...thank you all for making me feel a bit better about this whole fiasco! |

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! This is halarious!!!!!!!! I LOVE it!!!!!!!! After catching my breath and stopping laughing about the parole thing above, I need to say, it is not as bad as it looks to YOU!!! It is quite a shock from what you left, but it will grow back.....it is summer so it will be an adorable beach cut....also, look at that beautiful little girl!!! She is adorable! She is beautiful! You can hid a whole lot of faults under all that long hair, but when you put these girls in "bikinis" so to speak, there is no hiding faults......and while she may not be show dog quality to you, she is looking pretty darn cute! I keep all mine shaved down like this....it is so much cooler during our 96* - 110* summer temps. It will grow back.....some of mine need to be shaved every 3 months, some can go longer. Now, that is not floor length hair....it will take probably 8 - 12 months for her hair to sweep the floor again.....but she is adorable! Try to look at the positive angles to get you through this.....and of course, son paid the grooming bill, correct? Out of his own money, not on YOUR card......I found the quickest way to get MY son to pay attention to what I was saying or giving instructions, was to make him pay to correct mistakes he makes, if he made the mistakes because he did not follow instructions or didn't use his common sense! | My ZoE has extremely slow growing hair. She's three years old, and I finally gave up on her growing the beautiful floor length yorkie coat that I love, so I trimmed her. Then it just looked a shaggy mess, so I buzzed her! I was surprised about four weeks later, when I was giving her her weekly bath, to notice how quickly it had grown, so I buzzed her again. My point is, while it seems to take forever to add additional length to a long coat, it goes from basically nothing to quite a bit of short hair, rather quickly.

| lil pepper has a beautiful face that you can see when shaved, She's just an all around beautiful lil girl. I would have had a stroke to have left her looking like she was ready for the show ring, come home to find her ready for the beach, you poor thing. When I first adopted my lil Cody he was shaved to the skin, with in 3 weeks a lot of hair grew back, you'll see, in a few weeks she'll look like a lil teddy bear. She is truly beautiful with or without her full coat.
