YT Addict | Pips 12 weeks Sunday. 37 oz Pips doing well. We started harness training this week. He runs around the kitchen with it on. He loves his pouch and I strap him in using the harness. I can drive hands free and our Biewer can sit in front seat next to me. The harness is lil pal from Dogs.com $8.62 plus ship. Petsmart wants $25 XXS He is becoming such a cutie pie. He loves playing with his toys in the kitchen and has free run except when he goes in his crate to sleep. He goes in on his own when he is tired. Such a good boy--- I will start putting a leash on the harness sometime next week. He gets his fourth shot next Saturday a 9 way, then just Parvo/Rabies. |

YT Addict | Pups 12.5 wks - 2.5 lbs Well, Pips is doing great. He's playing fetch and bring the stuffed toy back to me. He has sitting down, and he's doing well with his harness and leash training. He's not walking on leash but will drag it around with no problem. The boys are still at a distance, but tolerating each other. It's the senior that is taking his time. He wants to be alpha and should be (well, 2nd alpha - to me). Here are a few pics |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog Be very careful with flea protection for such a little dog. That stuff scares me and it is poison. Choose wisely after much research. Do not give the shots together. I read somewhere about shots given separately. Check this out too. Pips is so adorable, I do not want anything to happen to him! |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog Oh looking at his little harness, You do not want to pull on his throat with a collar or harness. My dogs start coughing when I walk them with the regular harness on. I use the puppia one and attach the leash to the side of the strap. That way I am not yanking back on their throat. Just an idea. I hate it when my Yorkie gets that trachea cough so I do not pull in that area. |

YT Addict | He us not wearing a flea collar. This is a harness, I don't walk him. He is only 12.5 weeks old. I don't plan on walking him til he is 16 weeks and he will only be walked on a leash when I set him down in our fenced area to potty. He will be taught to potty on command like all my yorkies. He's wearing the harness for an hour to get used to it to start leash training in the house. I appreciate all the comments and I know about treacea issues. My senior biewer has a narrowing tracea. The only people who have hurt him are the professionals who handle him which burns me. Last edited by valeriejsmyth; 08-07-2014 at 06:32 AM. |

| Looking adorable! We also use a harness. He's getting used to it now, we leave it on him now for 15 min at a time, walk him in the back yard with it, he's getting used to it We had to move him from the master bathroom, sleeping at night into the kitchen now to sleep at night He was yelping every couple of hours in the bathroom all night long. We were going to bed at 10pm, lights out for him, by midnight he would be back up, then back up at 3am, and 6am Now he wakes us up once during the night, but some nights it's 2-3 times He's 4 months old in 10 days, and weighs 2.5oz right now His last vet visit is next week, thankfully, he has no more worms We also have him on heart guard and flea protection to |

YT Addict | The vet started him on heart guard already and flea protection? I will have to ask my vet. When I was there two weeks ago she said not yet for me. Glad to hear Chester is doing pretty good overall. Pips has a regular schedule except he's using ppads in the kitchen faithfully. No getting up at night. At 16 weeks will start taking him out during the day and he will use kitchen during night. |

| Yes, they started him last visit at 12 weeks old on it. I think we're doing it wrong. He knows to go outside, and when were not around, he goes on the weewee pads. But we were reading online, and they keep saying to get up every 2 hours during the night and take him out. We been doing that up until this week, but it was killing us. My wife works at a hospital during the night shift, so nights she's working 7pm to 7am, I'm up every 2 hours letting him out, not getting any sleep all night, and neither was he Last week we just started to shut all the lights out, after 10pm. He knows now, when the lights go out, he yelps for about 10 min, then goes to bed When he's up, like now, he took a nap from 6pm to 8pm when I woke him up, I stay in the kitchen on my IPad the whole time with him, until after 10pm, then I leave the kitchen and lights off Ever since our last Yorkie passed at 14+ years old! our cat that grew up with him! really whines around late at night before bed middle of night, and then at daylight The cat started whining this morning at 6am, woke Chester and me up. Last night was a bad night for Chester. When my wife works the night before, she comes home at 8am from work, and plays with Chester till close to 10am, then she's in bed, cause she has to wake up at 4pm to start to get ready for work So he sleeps all day, plays with his toys in the kitchen doesn't whine. Problem is, he gets so much rest during the day, he's up all night till about 1am I do have to laugh we have a fenced in yard, and he's been going out in it to the bathroom since we got him. Now, at 15 weeks old, he is so fast, he runs 100mph all around the yard We bring a ball out their and he chases it all over the yard like crazy We had to put him on flea prevention , he had fleas at 12 weeks old with the cat. Now he doesn't since we have him on it. But the last vet visit, he had a good amount on him We're waiting till after the next vet visit, to put down a bug control in the back yard on the lawn. The vet said wait till he's done with all his shots before doing it |

YT Addict | Awh, so sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I use the ppads because it's easier for us, I buy the assursnce people pads from Walmart they are $5.68 for 18 pads 18x24 or the large ones same price 36x36 for qty 10. They are great and hold a lot of pp. Because we live on 2 acres there are birds of prey so I am not thrilled with walking him too much around here. I don't have to worry about the 14 lb Biewer, LOL. It takes a little longer to train for outside potty but I teach them to go on command anyway. That way they go out, do their business and come back in. Itt's great when you are on road trips because they go straight away. Pips' still cutting teeth and is pretty good I general but can be all teeth at times. It seems o be mostly when he wants to eat, so I put a few kibbles in his bowl to hold him over til dinnertime so he can make it through the night. He's at 41 oz I weighed hin this morning, bought a scale at Harbor freight or $15 to keep track of his weight. |

| Ohh. Pips passed Chester looks like on the weight I'm hoping Chester weights in between 6-7lbs . But he's still pretty small. Then again maybe 2lbs 5oz is a normal weight at 15 weeks old? Yeh he's good on the pads inside, no problems. Outside he goes also well The spray has been working wonderful. No more teething on my slippers at night, and chewing the molding on the door in the kitchen gone away. I'm hoping in a few more days or week, he settled down a little more during the night I think he's so used to use waking him up every 2 hours, that he keeps waking up on his own now We're trying to let him sleep through the night, when we had to go wake up, go on the weewee pad, and go back to sleep He knows to go on the pads but going back to sleep we have to work on. We also stopped playing with him when he wakes up at 1am and cries. We signing him up at 4 months for training class's after his next shots in 2 weeks, I think we have done a few things wrong all ready. The vet has been great, going over everything with us. Everyone says when they whine to leave them alone don't run to them every time, but I can't take it, it breaks my heart , so I give in, but he's so dam cute |

YT Addict | LOL, yeah they are hard to resist. Pips is tracking at about 5 lbs. I think Chester is more like 4.5 lbs but Pips has had a growth spurt. His skeleton is growing (length mostly). I am happy with about 6-7 like you said, just not 14 like my Biewer. He feels so heavy now |
