| That's wonderful of you! Cindy's advice is great.... the crate training is the way I prefer and have heard good things about leashing them to you when you are walking around the house. As for the teeth thing.... My toy poodle, by the time he was 15 had almost no teeth. He was only fed soft canned food (by no choice of mine - but that's another story) and that definitely contributed to his teeth issues. Later in life, he had heart problems that he was on medication for (which he responded very well on and lived a happy, long life because of) but whenever he would have another tooth "go bad", it would affect his entire health. The infection gets in their system and affects a lot more than just the teeth and breath. Once he would get the affected teeth out, his health would always improve. My vet says he's seen dogs with no teeth still eat hard food because they have strong jaws but he was always on canned. Good luck with all of that and again, God bless you for taking him in!
