| Dilemma, should I cut or not... Turbo's hair is getting long. It's been in the 100's here the last few days, have the AC on all day! I know he'll be so happy w/out it, but I LOVE his hair, it hardly tangles & it's so purty. I did cut the top body part & left a skirt a couple months back & it grew out a couple inches already. These are not the best pics, he needs a bath & needs to be brushed out. Shood I let Mommie chop it off? Or keep it?

| I personally like the long hair. And you are right Turbo is looking mighty handsome with his pretty long hair.

| His hair is beautiful. I'd cut his hair like Huey and Lola and shave his underside. If he's still too hot you could take it shorter later. I'd be hesitant about shaving him down as close as the dog in the video, due to sunburn. |

| Oh, Turbo is a beautiful boy!!! He's got a lovely face and eyes. Such a pretty expression. If he's too warm now, chances are the summer will get warmer still so if he were mine, I'd cut it and let it regrow this fall. After all, it's more about what is best for them than what we like.

| Turbo's hair is beautiful! I keep mine cut short, it's a long, hot summer here in the south and Buster hates to be brushed and he mats, no matter how often or good that I brush him. Maggie doesn't mat but her hair is so thick, she just looks uncomfortable with long hair. I don't know that mine will grow hair that long and beautiful. As a friend of mine says "you just keep taking them to get it cut, how would you know"....

| I shave my pups every summer. I've never had any problems with it and my two seem to enjoy having less hair.

| I'm not sure which blade she's using in the vid, but she's going against the grain, w/the blade backwards. That means it's a closer shave & cuts twice as short. I def do not like that 'shaved' looked, I always use a #5F or #4F on Turbo. I don't like the braided back, I think it would be high maintenance look, but it is neat! I do like the cut she did for the back of the head, something I might try. Teri, that article was interesting! I didn't know that their hair insulates them from the heat...there are many pet owners that shave their Huskies or Persian cats down just to keep them from shedding. It might be doing more harm than good! I did notice that Momo feels like a hot potato since I shaved him down. I better leave some more hair on him next time. Well, the hot weather is gone & it's supposed to be cooler the next few days...will decide later whether or not to cut Turbo's hair. I'll probably trim his facial hair/ beard, skirt & go from there. Thank you everyone!

| The only thing I didn't like (would be concerned) with the braid part is "what if a tick gets in there?!" Magnus isn't a big fan of heat so I keep it very short during summer. Zoey, she prefers the warmth so I keep hers bit longer. |

What, pray tell, is the Joey cut? My little guy's name is Joey. Is there a picture of it somewhere that I can see it? I like the shaved ears. I tried to tell that to his groomer last time but I guess I said it wrong. I said I wanted clean ears, not shaved so she did not do what I thought I asked her to do. | |
