Yorkie Yakker | Goliath - My little 4lb Biewer Goliath is our little 4lb Biewer Yorkie!! First of all we love him sooo much. He is so lovable! He always wants to laydown across my legs when they are up, he follows me all around the house. He is 9 months old, he wants to sleep with us....bottomline he is part of what ever we do! He is playful with all other dogs and he will allow others to hold him if I put him in their lap. I really can't imagine our lives w/o him now!! My biggest concern is all the stuff I read about sicknesses Yorkie's can have and he is not like one of "fido sit" type dogs... He jumps and is skiddish about noises and fast moves. |

| I love the name Goliath. My yorkie is also quite skittish. He is a velcro dog (stuck to me at all times), but if I reach for him and he didn't initiate the contact, he skitters away. I think he is in constant fear of being bathed, brushed or dressed! He doesn't want to be held, he just wants to lay on his humans. The only person who can actually hold him for any length of time and him not try to wriggle free is my 90 year old deaf and half blind grandmother. We laugh that it keeps both of them out of trouble...he isnt marking up the house and she isnt trying to join conversations she can't hear! Yorkies are neat little creatures and I wouldn't take a million dollars for mine. Welcome to YT!

Yorkie Yakker | Don't leave me here!! Goliath is a velcro doggie also... He wants to be anywhere I am!! When I sit on the couch he comes by and wants me to pick him up so he can lay on my legs. After 2 or 3 times of me reaching down and him backing away from my hand, then coming back when I pull away he will come to my hand and I pick him up. We will sit together and I pet him for a while but if I get up he stands up on the arm of the couch and waits looking out from the couch he has a look on his face as if to say Hey don't leave me here!! I want you back or to come with you!!! |

YT 2000 Club Member | Teeka is 7 months and does the same thing. She will whine and paw at my leg to pick her up. Then when I reach down to pick her up, she backs away. I sometime make her wait and ignore her a bit and then she lets me lift her onto my lap. She loves to be held and is also a "velcro" baby! I wonder if this is a yorkie trait.

Yorkie Yakker | Good routines sitting quiet until I see a little human!! This is really good to know!! I thought Goliath was abused in some way... he comes right up to my leg then I reach out and he backs up and we go thru it 2 or 3 times....then it seems he says to himself OK "I'm gonna do this" and he get right under my hand and it's almost as though he hops in and up he goes. I have to say it's almost 4 months now and he is doing it less and less. Maybe it's just me but these little guys have a personality as complex as a human!! Goliath seems so aware and is really a part of whats going on in the house. We have a few routines like driving up to my wifes parents and he knows what to do at their house and has his favorite spots there and is very comfortable. Even when we go shopping he just sits in the baby seat of the shopping cart and just watches whats going on around him... people will come up and pet him....BUT if a little kid even walks by he will start barking!! All he has to do is see a kid and he will bark and bark!!
