| my new puupy Here are some pics of my new baby boy! He’s such a sweet boy; all he wants to do is cuddle and play. But he is being a little bit of a brat when it comes time to sleep. He really wants to sleep in my bed but I don’t want him to get into that habit so I’m trying to get him to sleep in a crate but he just cries and barks forever! Last bight I slept on the coach and let him sleep next to it. (Although he begged to come up). Tonight I’m going to be a strict mom and make him stay in the crate. Did your yorkies have trouble adjusting to the crate? When his older will it be safe to give him the run of the house? He’s not fully potty trained yet thought he's getting it fast. My breeder told me not to let him walk around outside cuz he’s too young and it’s too cold.(I live in Montréal) Is there some sort of spray I can use to help him go on his pee pad? Also he’s been trying to jump on the coaches but I’m so scared he’ll hurt himself! (He’s a big boy:6 pounds already and he’s almost 5 months!) Can he hurt himself jumping like that? What should I do? Thanx everyone, any good tips would be much appreciated! |

| Welcome to YT. Your little guy is a adorable and a cutie. What his name? You all look so happy. I cant really answer your question regarding crating cause I dont crate Gucci. I do know that a lot of members here do crate and can give you great advise. To get your little guy to use the puppy pads be consistent. Take him to the pad after he eats, plays and wakes up. Praise him everytime he goes on the pad. He can get hurt jumping off couches, i guess all you can do is watch him or you can buy steps to help him climb and get down. Enjoy your little guy. |

| we havent really found a name for him yet, maybe marley or baley...something with an y at the end...hehe. the only reason i'm putiing him in his crate at night is because i feel like he might be safest there. is that true? if you dont crate train your yorkies, where do you put him at night? |

| We crate everyone, but our Gizmo. They do cry for a while, but just make sure you make it a very positive thing. When going in the crate we always give a treat and TONS of praise. Soon he will run for the crate when you state it's time for bed!

| both of my little girls sleep in bed with me and my husband at night they have steps to get up and down so that they do not jump off of the bed and hurt themselves we keep our bedroom and bathroom door shut at night so that they have to stay in the bedroom and they are not running around the house. And also when we are not home they stay in our bedroom too it is a very large room with lots of room to play and run.

| Welcome to Yt! Your little boy is adorable and I really like the name Marley but I am sure what ever you choose will be great. My Sophie is a big yorkie she weighs 10lbs. We crate Sophie of a night and she cried at first. It was hard to here her cry but we got through it. Now she sleeps all night. Good luck. |

| Gucci sleeps with us in our bed. That has work for us. Gucci starting sleeping with us aroud 6 months thou. At the beginning she use to sleep on her bed on the hallway which it was enclosed with baby gates, there I had her food and pee pads. Crate training has work for others very well, we just decided not to. Cant wait to see more pics of your little guy. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali is crate trained but when she was about 5 months old, I got her at 9 weeks, I let he sleep in my bed with stairs so she can get down to her wee wee pad in her crate. She sleeps all night and if I am gone she is in her crate. Sometimes she will go into her crate by herself and take a nap. Good luck. Cali also wee wee pad trained pretty quickly. I use the Jump Start pads from Petsmart, they really seemed to work fast.
