| One thing that I found that helped Matthias adjust to crate sleeping at night was putting a huge blanket over top of it, covering the top and sides. This blocks out all the outside distractions and lights and whatnot. Doing this, he sleeps straight through the night. Actually I have always done this with all the dogs I have had in my life. I would suggest give it a try. Put a cushion or bed in there, with a blanket and a soft chew toy. Make sure he has gone potty, give him kisses goodnight and tuck him. Then drape the blanket over the crate. He may wimper for a few minutes, but it shouldn't last more than a minute. It's almost like teaching a baby to sleep in her crib alone. He certainly is a handsome little one. He looks so regal sitting on his bed. Like "This is my bed, my house, I deserve this treatment and no less!" hehehe |
