| I think he looks cute peeking out of the box, and not scared at all, but the OP knows best by how Joel acts when he is in the box or just gets out of it. I think most good fur parents like joel's mom, knows what the limits are and what will scare their pup in a bad way, in this instance and with this pup it is probably not tramatic, however if it solves the problem LOL the jury is out on that. Lola is pretty confident, not much scares her, Joel is probably the same, so I guess that's why it does not bother me so much, because I know my Lola would emerge from the box full of piss and vinegar and ready for another round. Some of you have more timid pups and a lot of you bless your hearts, rescue pups, so i can understand why this would worry you

He's hardly bad bc the timeouts work for him, he rarely gets timeouts. I think he'd rather be in the toy box in timeout where he plays in by himself anyway and still be near everyone then to get sprayed with water or yelled at or put up in a room. I mean im going to have to dicipline once in a while. He plays in the toybox on his own so I doubt he's scared of it, and yes it's hard to find something effective for him bc not much stuff gets to him, he's not scared of anything and is stubborn. I also would't compare it to puting a child in a dark closet, that would be messed up lol. You wouldn't spray a kid with water when they yell, or whatever things you do with your dog. So I dont think you could compare a dog in a toybox or an upside down basket or whatever timeout place to putting a kid in a closet, just saying | |

| i had a feeling your little guy was fearless like Lola, LOL she is not often bad as well, and if for some reason I do have to discipline her I swear she mimics me and it's a game. I think I could blindfold her in a closet and she would come out licking my face (LOL I DO not do this) It's a good and bad thing with fearless pups, it's nice they have no hangups, but dang they can be........ so darn cute

| Oh good lord people. If she hadn't reprimanded him you'd all be bitching about how she needs to get control of her dog and the situation... People can't win on this site. There's always someone getting butt hurt about something and it's pretty freaking ridiculous. The dog wasnt hurt, she didn't lock him in the box and put a brick on top of it so he couldn't get out and who the hell cares how she chooses to punish HER dog as long as she's not abusing him?? It's no differed than caging a dog, shaking a can or squirting them with water. Somethings work for one dog that don't work for others....pull the sticks out of your butts and stop being so dad gummed judgemental and holier than thou.
