| I have a new baby!! Newbie here Hello all! I have finally made it onto the site so that I can post, thanks to those that helped me out. I picked up my new baby Friday evening, and have quickly learned that was a mistake. She is 6 weeks old, too young, I know now. Anyway, the breeder give her shots to her before we left. Saturday morning I took her to the vet, who again give her shots after I told him she had already had them. He said it wouldn't hurt, but judging by yesterday-I don't think it was smart. She was quite lethargic most of the day, however she did eat small amounts. I was really concerned and so glad Shelly was online to talk to me! Anyway, the vet really concerned me because he said she had open fontanel. I have read up on it and haven't found alot! What I did find really doesn't apply, I don't think. Its about the size of the end of a pencil, and I have a hard time feeling of it. Does anyone know about this? I am already attached and do not want to take her back. (I got her for my other yorkie, Scooby, whose best friend (boxer) moved out with my daughter! Today she is much more energetic and eating well. Dilemma #3-what to name her???? Votes appreciated! So far: Lola, Fancy, Kahlia (ka-leah), Shayla, Heidi, Zoee, Minnie and Tiara I look forward to talking to everyone!! Renee |

| Uhh, shes so cute. Welcome to YT. I wouldn't be too worried about the open Fontanel, it sounds like its very small and more likely that it will close on its own as she gets a little older. There are some dogs where its really pronounced and that when it can be a problem. We look forward to getting to know you all.

| She is adorable. Welcome to YT. I am a Newbie too, and this site is one of the best sites on the net. I am addicted to it for all of its amazing information. As far as a name, you can't go wrong. If you are into the whole Scooby theme why not go for Daphne? I think it is original and pretty/cute at the same time. Just a thought. Good luck with your little princess. |

| Renee 1st I want to welcome you to YT, as a fellow Alabamian and YT member. Congrats on your new baby!!!! Please be careful about the vet over vaccinating a pup, they can die from this. I know a friend of mine last one a couple of month ago. So, yes it can hurt !!! Glad to hear she is okay, what a blessing. Her open fontanel will probably close on it own since she is still a very young pup, just watch her little head so she doesn't bump into things. So where is Alabama do you live. I am in LA down by Thomasville???
