| thin coat? So i've been looking at other peoples puppies here for a while and i noticed meesha has a thinner coat then all the puppies i've seen, even when meesha met her first yorkie friend at the vet, who was 8 weeks old, holding the 2 next to each other i noticed meesha (who was twice his age) looked scruffy LOL th other puppy had a coat 3 times thicket then meesha, he looked like a stuffed animal. When Meesha's overdue for a bath her coat is even thinner looking and greasy looking lol, i snapped some photos on my iphone, so its kind of blurry, dose this mean she won't grow a long coat or something? i can't tell if shes cotton coat or what kind of coat she has? i know she has her puppy coat, so will it change, i love how my little meesha looks like, and i find dealing with her thin coat is so easy to comb and bath, but i'm just wondering why her hair is so much thinner then every other yorkie puppy i've meet and seen...and what it'll be like when shes older these first few photos are meesha at her fluffiest, few days after a bath |

| and when i don't comb her for a while, and if she goes without having a bath longer then 2 weeks, she looks like this LOL, well not as bad because her hair is squished from sleeping on it in this photo LOL |

| It is hard to tell from a picture for sure just from a picture, but from the picture that looks like one very nice yorkie I think. Don't be fooled into thinking his coat is too thin or incorrect. You might have seen soft coated Yorkie puppies and those will look fluffy. This looks like a very nice silk coat. Often as they get older the coat can get a little thicker silk but you don't want a fluffy coat anyway if a correct coat is what you are looking for. |

She looks like ZoE did when younger. ZoE had what looked to be a thin coat and never looked "fluffy" and full and teddybear like, as some yorkies do. She's now just over a year old and has a super silky coat. It is soooo easy to manage and she rarely has matts.

| Hi, I don't have a purebred Yorkie (yet)...but Bella is half Yorkie and her hair looks like Meesha's as far as thickness is concerned (different color is all). I also went to Google images and typed in "Yorkie puppy 16 weeks". Most of them look similar to Meesha; thin hair. Yorkies don't have an undercoat, either, that most breeds have. They only have the one coat, which is why it's called hair instead of fur. ...I think Meesha is adorable, and while I'm NOT an expert on Yorkie coats, I think Meesha's looks like other Yorkie puppies I have seen. I've 'heard' (hear say) that when a puppy's coat is thin and sparse like that, they are more likely to have a silky coat when their adult hair grows in. Whether or not this is true... I don't know. | thanks everyone, after petting that other yorkie at the vet 2 weeks ago i've been looking at meeshas coat alot more and overthinking lol,i don't see many yorkies in person around here so it was making me wonder if it'd grow long to the floor, or where she was thinner haired itd just stay short...and its so funny, when its almost bath time again she looks so greasy and almost bald on her head,i'd bath her more but the vet said not to, I guess i have alot more to learn about yorkie coats, its all new to me, thanks for the help |

| Tessa has silky thin hair too unlike her maltese sister who has a fluffy coat. My yorkie is incredibly easier to groom hands down. Less mats and silky to the touch. Gotta love that! Meesha is an absolute cutie btw. I wouldn't worry about her coat |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Meesha looks like she has a silky coat which is great! The 2 of mine with silky coats were full grown when I got them so I don't know what they looked like as puppies. My 2 cottony coated ones were fluffy as puppies and a nightmare to keep mat free. Both my silky coated ones grow coat to the floor just like my others and are much easier to groom. Meesha is a cutie.

| yes meesha has similar hair to the photos of bear and tessa that were posted and others in this thread that mentioned thiers looked similar as puppies(i went and checked out albums of those who said thier puppies were similar), meeshas hair was alot shorter when i first took her home like those photos i saw, but that'll be great if she'll be easy to groom the rest of her life, make it easyer on me lol, shes already so hard to bath and comb, so squirmy, lol, i can't wait to watch her grow and see what her coat and colors turn into |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I've found some of the thinner coats mature out to be true silk coats Your baby is a cutie! |
