Well, we found out a little bit more about sweet Gianna. Good news from the vet, her stool tested negative for parasites, so she is 100 percent healthy. Some more good news, she is basically back to normal from the accident, just has a little unsteadiness running up the steps. We put our gang away and let Gianna have time to roam the whole house for a few hours today. We have learned that she appears to be 100 percent potty trained, sits for a cookie on command, and loves to play fetch with Mr. Monkey a squeaky toy.

You make us Jersey Girls look like angels! I am so impressed that you did this for this sweet girl. She never would have survived on the streets if someone hadn't taken her to the vet. I'd like to find that woman and give her a big hug, and I'll give you a virtual one.

How is she getting along with the other dogs? She seems to be fitting in with you and your family wonderfully!

It's hard to say with the dogs. As of right now I would still say a home with no other animals or maybe one small submissive dog, but I do think she will adjust over time. She's not really aggressive with them, she will just raise her gums at them if they approach her face to face. She tends to guard me a little when she's on my lap, not with people just with the dogs, but more then anything I think she is frightened of them. She is not a confident dog, but we are working on it. Today, I had her on a harness and leash and took them all out in the yard together and she kept wanting me to pick her up. I just kept telling her "you're ok." She let them sniff her and she did some sniffing. Later, she had a squeak toy in her mouth and Mimi went to tug with her, but she doesn't understand playing, so she thought Mimi was going to take it from her so she just raised her gums, but nothing terrible. I guess time will tell how she will do with other dogs. We have four weeks before she can be spayed so by then I will have a better feel. Thanks for the compliments She really is a perfect dog. She is trained better then my crew. And, if you can believe it she is 100 percent potty trained.

Hmm, me thinks you're going to have a fur-ever friend Especially since she seems so content with you.
But like you said she deosn't know how to play, but in time I think she'll get the hang of it. Bad thing about trust is it's so easy to break and so hard to re-build. Poor little thing has been through so much. It's amazing to see how far she's come already under you and your family's care.
