| Even if it is temporary, you are her angel for taking in her and loving her for the time you have her!

| Gianna, has a story behind her. Last week she was hit by a car and left to die on the side of the road, when a young lady found her and rushed her to the nearest vet hospital. The vet hospital agreed to minimally stabalize her, but she was in bad shape and according to their progress notes did not expect her to pull through. If she did and an owner did not show up or someone who would be responsible for her bill, she was scheduled to be turned over to the county shelter. I don't know what it was, but something kept pulling me towards this little girl and so hubby and I drove almost two hours last week to the vet hospital where she was at and brought her some things and spent some time with her. Even then she was in pretty poor shape. When we learned that she would be handed over to the shelter, we knew she'd never make it in that environment and my hubby (Gotta say I was surprised) told them he'd donate $500 toward her vet bill if they agreed to let me take her rather then turn her over to the shelter. Shelter was going to give them nothing toward the bill. A little bit later they came in and told us, that that shelter said it would be ok for them to surrender her to me (They had me listed as a rescue on the discharge papers. Not really am, but I do rescue on my own if the situation arrises). Any hoot, we picked this little girl (who the hospital named Gianna) up on Monday. She made incredible progress between Friday and Monday, which happily surprised me. She is incredibly thin, and still unsteady on her feet, although she is better this morning then she was yesterday so she is getting better each day. At this point we are going to fatten her up, give her lots of love and evaluate her as to what type of home she would do best in. As hungry as he was she had no food aggression, you could take food and bones out of her mouth with no issue. She is the most loving little girl. At first I thought she may have issues with dogs but she seems to fine with dogs now. I think she was just intimidated and frightened the first day and having my crew sniffing around her when she sitll didn't feel well, was probably the reason for the initial growling at them. She loves to get a bath and be groomed, so I assume at some point she was loved. What happened I don't know. No one is looking for her, we and the hospital searched all over and she is not chipped. However, I would have great reservations about returning her to anyone after I saw how emaciated she was and she was infested with fleas when the hospital had her. They treated her for that as well so now she is flea free and looking beautiful. I have Yorkie 911 (Heidi) helping me out with anything I need and she will help me place her when the time comes. Right now it will be at least several weeks of resting and fattening up and some good love. |

| I keep coming back to Gigi so see how the little love bug is doing. Is she being a little less scared around other dogs? Bet she's lovin' all the good food and cuddles she's getting from foster Mom and Dad.

| Well, we took Gianna to my vet last night, that I use for my crew. She checked out great. He estimates her to be younger then I thought. He feels between a year to three years with two years being the best guess. She was recently in heat, but does not feel she's been bred. He gave her the clear for a spay, shots and dental probably in about a month. We are just waiting on her stool sample. Ideally, I think the best home for her would be with a retired couple or retired woman. Young enough to care for her. Would be nice for her to be their only dog so she could be spoiled, as she is timid, yet craves touch and attention. If not the only dog I would only reccomend her with maybe one other small dog, submissive dog. She shows know interes in interacting with any of mine so I think she'd be happiest by herself with just her humans to make her the center of their world, but I feel she would also do alright with another small dog that was submissive. Her favorite spot (And she found this herself) is on my computer chair. We are currently sharing it as I type. |

| Oh she is adorable. I really do wish we were closer. I think she and Gizmo would be wonderful playmates. Bless you for taking such good care of her.

| Well, we found out a little bit more about sweet Gianna. Good news from the vet, her stool tested negative for parasites, so she is 100 percent healthy. Some more good news, she is basically back to normal from the accident, just has a little unsteadiness running up the steps. We put our gang away and let Gianna have time to roam the whole house for a few hours today. We have learned that she appears to be 100 percent potty trained, sits for a cookie on command, and loves to play fetch with Mr. Monkey a squeaky toy. |

| What a luckly little girl she is to have you as her guardian angel. She should be easy to rehome when you feel she is ready. I hope someone will love her the way she deserves to be loved!!
