| Ada's haircut I decided I would try giving Ada a bit of a haircut.... Keep in mind my extent of 'cutting dogs' hair' is trimming papillon feet. So.... yeah... I just took a bit off her legs and the stuff that was in her eyes and took some thinning shears to her to even her coat out a bit. I realized I started trying to do her back legs like papillons (trim clean from hock down) and that didn't work too well on a yorkie coat. It might not be the 'best' haircut but I'm hoping at least I won't have to be pulling all kinds of sticks and leaves and junk out of her leg hair like I had to do daily before. I swear, everything just sticks to her coat. I have to bathe and groom her about 5 times as often as the paps and she still doesn't look as good. lol I can never tell if all the grooming I'm doing actually shows. She always looks like a scraggly mutt. So here she is the first day we found her: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5270/...f1b2e04721.jpg And today post haircut: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2041/...253bab4917.jpg She has eyes now! Before: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5025/...eecf36c503.jpg After: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3188/...c858b22e40.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5103/...53e8ecc4d4.jpg She's fitting in well... almost too well. We've had her a month and I really really don't want to see her go. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3193/...3c05a4c0af.jpg Still not sure what breed she is. I think new hairdo makes the yorkie in her more apparent. |

| I think the cut looks great--she really is a cutie. She cleaned up very nice, though she was cute before as well. She looks happy, too.

| Thanks guys! I am just glad I didn't butcher her hair too bad. She's looking better. We found her running along the side of the road and never found her owners though we tried looking. She has heartworms so is being treated for that right now. She's supposed to be a 'foster' but we'll see.... I'm getting awfully attached. |

| Thanks guys! I'm really getting the feeling she's not going anywhere. We'll see how it all works out though. So far I have had a few people interested in adopting her but none have sounded remotely like responsible owners for her. She's cross posted with some rescues around here and one person called wanting to breed her to their lab mix! I can't believe people. She needs a lot of work still with her manners. I think she was kept outdoors in a kennel or yard 24/7 because she does not have any house manners whatsoever. Right now she has to stay tethered to me 24/7 or else she'll mark indoors or chew something up. We've had her a month and I can see improvements but still have a long ways to go! But she's a really nice dog. She seems very well balanced and friendly and she adores kids! |
