I finally broke down & decided to take Lucky to be groomed. I figured since he is 9 months old & never been, it was probably about time. I have just been so scared because of all the bad stories I've heard! I think I might've scared the groomer a little when I went in there because I was so adament about what I wanted & was asking a lot of questions about where he would be kept & that sort of thing! But when I picked him up he looked really pretty! She shaved around his ears & in between his eyes, & his little bum!

She also trimmed around his feet & face. The only thing I didn't like was that I asked her to take some length of his body hair & she didn't. I kept telling her she better not shave him or else though!

LOL! So, maybe she thought better safe than sorry!

But I trimmed him myself when we got home! I still need to even it up a bit (he was squirmmy), but I think it looks pretty good! I'm just so glad I found a groomer I liked! Also one more question..she said to teach Lucky that it is ok to pull on his chin hairs for when she does between his eyes. Is this the way its supposed to be done? Thanks & sorry for being so long!

He is soo handsome. That is good you found a good groomer. Where did you go?

To a lady in Andover, named Charlotte (sp?). Its at her house, but she has a grooming set up in what would've been a garage. And she has 5 yorkies of her own!

One of them walked out when I was picking up Lucky & she was beautiful! She had the long hair down to the ground, but it was so pretty!

Yea, the stories out there would have anyone worried.
Princess has a great Groomer. She Breeds Yorkies too,
so I'm really happy with her. It's really best when they
know the Breed. Lucky looks great!

Lucky is a cutie. Maggie is 8 months old and goes to the groomer every six weeks. Her first trip to the groomer, I took a list of things to do and NOT do. Maggie's groomer is one of the best in North Central Texas, and has a waiting list for new customers. The second time I made Maggie a beauty shop appointment, the groomer said "Oh, you're the one with the LIST". I just laughed it off, but at least the LIST made an impression on her. I keep Maggie's body hair about 3 inches long, but have her chest and tummy clipped short.

Lucky looks great. And they didn't shave his pretty coat completely off!

Also, does anyone know about the groomers pulling on the chin hairs to do between the eyes? Is this how it's supposed to be done?

Well, they did a wonderful job. Lucky looks great! I hope you are pleased with it. I know the first time is probably scary. I want Dollar to get grommed but I dont know how soon is too soon you know? But anyway it turned our just perfect!!!

Pulling on the chin hair is fine..I do this when I am brushing the hair around the face on mine. You just hold the chin hairs to keep them from moving their head around. I didn't know groomers did this also to trim around the eyes. Mine are used to it though because they don't fidget when I do it. Didn't know I was actually doing a good thing

Thanks! That's good to know that it was ok for her to do that! I will have to start doing that to Lucky every once in awhile so he will get used to it!
