Patti, thank god for the bow makers out there. They make beautiful bows! I never bought their bows but always enjoy looking at their bows.

Forgot to mention about bands. I notice there are different sizes of bands. Some stores sell micro small (1/8), tiny, small, medium and large. I ordered tiny to see how it works for Blue. I wonder what micro small band is used for. Maybe for puppies? I know I have to be careful that the band doesn't break Blue's hair. He uses tiny claw whenever I don't want to use band.

I just may have to make a trip to Joann fabrics, (bringing my dresses and shirts along) to see if we can get some ribbon to match our new outfits!! Ohhhhh wow.....maybe I do need some serious yorkie accessory help!!!!!!!!

awww cute boy bows are popular too and you did a great job making him some.

I made a few for my Savannah but I'm waiting on my new bands to arrive my old one's are not any good they keep snapping.

I am blessed to have had my grandma teach me how to make bows way back when she made them for the show ring.

i used to as well and after my hubby got really sick and passed my yorkie and I just shut off to ourselves.

My baby is teenie so I'm going to have to get on the ball again because I love double loop bows and no one makes them that small.

and to afford her new must haves..it seems every week I'm buying her something else..lol

Your Yorkie looks adorable in the topknot bow. We'll absolutely need pictures of each bow on that topknot. Is this breed of dog just the cutest or what? Spending time on this website makes my little Tibbe jealous but if he knew I was having so much fun soaking in all of the Yorkie lore, learning and laughing on this site which is all about his kind, he might not be so offended by my time at the computer. As it is, when I get on the computer, he watches me for a bit but very soon he has come over and squeezed onto my lap and starts distracting me. Only the lure of all this Yorkie stuff keeps me going! After a while, he gives up the lap tactic and starts playing in the middle of the den floor, cutting di-de-dooh's, growling playfully, jumping around and landing in play bows, throwing behaviors by doing his learned tricks and before long, I close the laptop and I'm his patsy! If I put a bow on his topknot and made him any cuter......

Thank you! Wow, aren't you lucky to have your grandma teaching you how to make show bows. I don't use fabric stiffener so I can be more flexible with different kind of ribbons. I ordered tiny bands and got it last Monday. I think next time, I will try micro small bands. Tiny bands are pretty good size but I want smaller size than tiny ones. Savannah is a very lucky girl to be spoiled!

Thank you for your kind compliments! Good idea to post the picture of Blue with each bow. I've been so busy & did not have a chance to make a bow, just the simple rhinestone. YT is pretty addicting. I find myself staying up late and the next day I have to get up early and feeling so tired. lol

you don't have to stiffen them to get a nice bow I use larger bands on the bows and twist them over the topknot about 3 times to hold it secure after I set it up with the first few bands. I always cut the bands I use to make my topknot out but never have to do that with my bows

Just purchase some fray check and treat your ribbon ends let that dry and you can make some pretty nice head wear and using this will make it so much easier

Blue is quite regal looking in that band! He needs a royal cape, sceptre and throne to match.

Interesting method. As for the fray, I use the fire to burn any fray and harden the end of ribbon. Lighter works like a charm. If I want to do flag ribbon I use the fray stopper. it is great to learn how people make their bows!

Your work is beautiful...I'm inspired!.Blue seems to have one of those personalities that just jumps out of the pictures! Spo nice to see someone making stuff for lil boys...I always have a hard time even with finding boy stuff for Elvis and Scoobers it's well less than masculine...very very much less...like footballs with purple, blue, and pink ribbons......actually I wanted those because it was hilarious!

That's very sweet of you! Thank you! Making a simple bow is not hard. Tomorrow Blue is going to be bathed and I will put a red bow on him so I will post a new picture. Oh, I don't call him "Fabio" once in a while for no reason. lol He's a great little guy! Beau & Pearl probably would say he is kind of pain in the butt because he always demands the attention! I need to publish a video for you to see how yappy he is while my dogs ignored him.
I saw the boy bows with the sports, vehicles, skull, etc. Thought they were so cute but did not seem right for Blue. I hope you will have fun making bows as much as I do!
