Glue that was being applied on Blue's ears (and Beau) is not like ordinary glue. When it gets on your skin it dries fast & becomes rubbery. It is not painful to remove from your skin. I don't know why Blue's dad's breeder does ear glue. Maybe it is easier to glue than tape.

Look like you have made your decision to let the ears have their final say.

No, not quite yet. I'm going to tape them this morning. Max doesn't pull the tape out and it doesn't seem to bother him all that much.

I'm sure I sound like I've given up because I think it's kind of hopeless at this point. Nonetheless the ears are taped!

Max looks adorable either way! What a handsome little boy! I a enjoying reading about the ear glue and tape. Hmmm I've never heard of ear glue!

l That sounds like liquid bandage. I wonder if that's what it's like. Do you know if it is in a little jar/bottle looking thing with a brush to brush it on?

When I glued my english bulldogs' ears, I used rubber cement glue. This is what the breeder told me. This was years ago. I googled "rubber cement and dog's ears" and apparently it is still being used.

For me and my dogs, I think taping the ears was much easier to do and less irritating to use than the glue. I put a little cotton between the fold of each ear and then wrapped blue painter's tape around the ears. It really worked for me. It held them up and it stayed on and was very easy to remove without taking any hair with it.

I enjoy reading about ear tape & ear glue, too! I was surprised to see Blue's & Frost's (Blue's brother) ears being glued. Blue's ears were lazier than Frost's and it took Blue's lazy ears a while to finally stand up. Three attempts with the glue finally got Blue's ears up. The glue looks like milk but not too runny. You apply it on paper and use a stick like straw and roll it to coat the glue on the stick then apply it on the inside ear and then fold ear and hold it for few seconds and it's all good. I will ask my friend for the name of the glue.

Using the clipper to shave the glue off does not pull the hair off from the skin just cutting the hair just like you shave the "V" of the ears. The glue holds the ears up for about three weeks. Beau's close up picture shows how his skin is after three weeks of being glued. I am going to ask my friend to see if she could ask the breeder why she does ear glue. I'll get back to this thread, hopefully, with the answers.

If taping the ears do work on the dogs' ears then that's great. If gluing the ears do work on the dogs' ears then that's great, too! It's breeder's preference on how they want to do with dogs' ears. There is no wrong or right about that.
