Do you have a zoom on your camera? If so try standing in a doorway to take photo. Also if there is a interval shooting option on the camera. Place camera on tripod - wait till she gets use to camera on tripod. Then start interval shooting. Go on and join her on the couch then you can get pics of the two of you

Truthfully it's usually after spending all day at my bf's and Bailey is tuckered out from playing with his 2 dogs, then he isn't as crazy energetic and I can get a few shots in! I know, it is difficult when they won't stay still, I usually don't even bother when he's like that because as soon as I get a good shot to take, he moves!

Thank you! I have the Canon XSi, I am still not very familiar with it, but am loving learning!
