Layla got Alaska booties! 4 Attachment(s) When I saw the booties that Jillie was wearing- they looked perfect for Layla! Lately when she comes in from playing/walking her pads have been bleeding. But any booties I have bought have been too stiff and she won't move in them. These are JUST fleece with a velcro closure. She wasn't sure about them at first but I threw her ball and she forgot they were on! And they dry SO fast! They were only $12 and she sends you 5 just in case you loose one! thanks for the recommendation Mike! We LOVE them! (we are slightly embarrassed by our lack of snow- for being the "great white north"- lol... but i can guarantee it was cold!) - oh our backyard is not completely fenced in so that is why Layla is dragging the leash behind her. She should spot a bunny I at least stand a chance at stopping her :) |
Layla is so adorable!! Looks like she's enjoying the booties! |
:cheer: YEA to Layla's Alaskan Booties!! :cheer: I have wanted SO BAD to post about Zoey's too... she has pink ones just like Layla's and they work GREAT - so much better than the other 3 styles we had tried previously. I was afraid to post on here because I wasn't sure if Rebecca wanted a rush of orders but SO GLAD you started this thread. :D:D We too, just loved seeing Lillie's little warm tootsies in the snow and had to have some ourselves! Lillie has started the pink tootsie craze for sure!! Great pics btw - Layla is beautiful!! |

2 Attachment(s) Hahaha... must be a 'lazy - stay warm' kinda day for Zoey... :p I got her all dressed up to go and play in the snow and it was like HECK NO - we won't go!!! Then she tried her best to take out your barrette and she was getting ready to go for the booties next  She really does do well in them, even tho the first minute is a little awkward. Here are a couple in the comfort of home - the best we could do today  Attachment 306467Attachment 306468 |

Layla is so cute. I like her whole outfit, from the bow to the booties!:) |
Woohoo! Great pics! Looks like those 3xs fit her perfectly. I'm so glad you're happy with them. I didn't want to give you bum advice. Those are the same booties worn by sled dogs, so you know they work. Sled dogs can run 100 miles in a day, and they use them to protect their feet from abrasions. I think they're pretty easy to make once you get the technique down, so she should be able to handle her newfound Yorkie clientelle. ;) |
You have a beautiful baby, love the booties as well. |
OMG..those are some awsome pic's...your both adorable:p little snowy face...luv it! |
she looks adorable in her little boots & sweater You must be a great "mommy" she looks very well cared for |
1 Attachment(s) So cute! I saw these booties and loved them... so I made some for my own babies. ;) They are pretty easy to make. In the picture, I have 3 sets (one for each)... I am debating about making a few different colors for different outfits. ;) |
Those ARE awesome pictures - each one of them - I love the action shot with her ball - you really got some good ones with her little snow face and the boots look pretty cute too ! |
She is absolutely adorable!!! And great pictures too by the way. |

Before the Iditarod, senior homes and other retired folks raise funds by mass producing booties for the sled dogs. Can you imagine how many booties 70 16-dog teams would go through over the course of 1,000 miles? Robin, do you use elastic to attach the velcro? That's the best thing I like about heidi and company's booties. The elastic allows you to get them just a wee bit tighter so they don't fall off. Most people just use straight velcro, which isn't stretchy. But attaching the Velcro to the elastic makes a big difference. |

Agree - this is the most significant reason for them working over all the others I have tried!! CONGRATS on those with the creative talent to whip these out!!! For me... not gonna try to go the homemade route (at least not at the moment) and love that we have a resource who is not only talented but very quick and very reasonable shipping! |

Yes, I used elastic with velcro at the ends. I even debated using a thinner elastic (not so wide) and then cutting down the velcro but decided against it. I may try that tonight or tomorrow on a "trial run". I originally thought the elastic and velcro would be pretty bulky on a smaller baby. My Ginger who is 4lbs did fine though. I agree, I think having that attaching the velcro to the elastic is key, makes it so easy to secure them. |
Miss Layla, you are so pretty in your new pink booties. Your feet must be toasty warm now. You are so lucky to have such a smart mommy. |
Adorable! Layla is just soooo stinkin' cute, seriously. I love her! and her booties! |
