Now I wish my girls had these booties. I want to take them up in the mountains where there is snow. They have never seen it.
Layla looks adorable in her pink booties. Auntie Donna is sending her lots of warm hugs! :p

Haha! This is what I expect will happen when we try the boots too! Zoey is adorable.

To the OP...Layla is adorable too and we are in the process of ordering them.

Finally, to Alaskayorkie thank you for debuting these last week I think it was and I can't wait to try them out. No other boots lasted more than 30 seconds before but these look promising!:)

Thanks so much for sharing this! I've hunted EVERYWHERE for a pair of booties small enough for Sophie, but everything from Muttluks to ones I find at pet stores are too big. I ordered a pair of the booties in 3xs and a thermal in 5xs for Sophie. I couldn't find a page to order from the website either, so I e-mailed Rebecca, the business owner/designer, and was able to place my order and pay for it through PayPal last night. I'll post pics when they arrive. :)

OMG..she is absolutely ADORABLE. Every time I think I can't see a cuter picture I go in another thread and see something else - what precious little babies on this site!

Robin, do you use elastic to attach the velcro? That's the best thing I like about heidi and company's booties. The elastic allows you to get them just a wee bit tighter so they don't fall off. Most people just use straight velcro, which isn't stretchy. But attaching the Velcro to the elastic makes a big difference.
What Robin DIDN'T tell you is I told her about the ones I got while I was in Anchorage and sent her my "5th" one to use as a pattern! :P I made Bella some too, but out of pleather instead since I already have the fleece....I'm trying to solve your "spring thaw" problem :D I'm not convinced it's the answer, but the pleather IS better than the fleece at keeping the water out...plus they're more breathable than the Pawz (which is why they aren't 100%, but oh well, can't have it all!) I'm working on some other ideas, so we'll see what happens!

And I used the elastic too...works sooo well!! ;)

Sneaky Robin! LOL. I love it. I've been trying to get some YT sewers fired up about this idea for years! I like the pleather idea! Let me know how it works or if you come up with something else.

I think I told you, the ones that work best for me in spring are some ones a friend made me. They are fleece on the inside with a denim material on the outside. She sprays the denim with a waterproofer. But, come to think of it, I wonder how safe that is for a Yorkie's pads? The nice thing about denim is it patches easily.

Just ordered a pair of the booties for magic in red. can't wait to get them i just hope he will wear them. Rebecca is such a sweetheart to deal with it has truly been a pleasure. hope they fit him.

Is the plether bendable? I love the fleece because she can move well in them. I think (once i learn how to use my new sewing machine) I will try and look for raincoat material- or something similar. I might even use canvas- we own a boat business and many of the boat tops are made of a type of canvas and they repel water quite well. We should keep eachother updated as to what works!

The key to get Layla to forget that they were even on- was her ball. So find a toy he just LOVES or if he loves walking that is even better. She needed soemthing to take her mind off her feet- and once she did she didn't care at all that they were on.

I like the canvas idea! Be careful with the raincoat material because it has to be breathable. Plus, I tried making some out of rip-stop nylon, and they were terribly slippery.

hmmm... you are right about the breathability.. might have to forgo that one.

I didn't mention it b/c I didn't know if it was illegal or something... I guess its NOT but I am sure there are some people who would disagree with me borrowing a product (w/o actually buying it myself) and trying to make a replica... hands down there are people who feel this way on YT lol (there is at least one of every kind of person on YT hehe)... so I figured I wouldn't go there... didn't mean to take the credit like I had come up with the pattern :p I'm definitely NOT that talented lol :D

So, where do you buy these? I have had the same problem with the girls not liking them because they are so stiff. Let me know I would love to order some too. I hope there are instructions on how to measure. lol

check a few pages back- i posted the link. If you email Rebecca (the girl who makes them) and tell her how big your girls are she suggests the size. Layla is 6 lbs and she is wearing a 3XS and they are perfect.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with duplicating a pattern IF you're just doing it for yourself or to give as a gift. Maybe it would be different though it you were trying to sell them... Besides, there are only so many ways to make booties, and I saw several on the shelves in AK almost identical to those that appeared to be commercially produced (a little different, but very close!)...so there! :P
