				   | So cute! I saw these booties and loved them... so I made some for my own babies. They are pretty easy to make. In the picture, I have 3 sets (one for each)... I am debating about making a few different colors for different outfits.

Before the Iditarod, senior homes and other retired folks raise funds by mass producing booties for the sled dogs. Can you imagine how many booties 70 16-dog teams would go through over the course of 1,000 miles? Robin, do you use elastic to attach the velcro? That's the best thing I like about heidi and company's booties. The elastic allows you to get them just a wee bit tighter so they don't fall off. Most people just use straight velcro, which isn't stretchy. But attaching the Velcro to the elastic makes a big difference.

Agree - this is the most significant reason for them working over all the others I have tried!! CONGRATS on those with the creative talent to whip these out!!! For me... not gonna try to go the homemade route (at least not at the moment) and love that we have a resource who is not only talented but very quick and very reasonable shipping!

It would be fun to sit in a room though with others and just sew all day. ![]() Yes, I used elastic with velcro at the ends. I even debated using a thinner elastic (not so wide) and then cutting down the velcro but decided against it. I may try that tonight or tomorrow on a "trial run". I originally thought the elastic and velcro would be pretty bulky on a smaller baby. My Ginger who is 4lbs did fine though. I agree, I think having that attaching the velcro to the elastic is key, makes it so easy to secure them.
