| Getting a puppy soon : D Hi, I'm getting a yorkie puppy soon and have been researching on them for about 2 years now. I'm 18, and I have saved up 3000 dollars to go towards getting a new puppy. I already have a female schnoodle but she is really friendly with other dogs. I was wondering, I have heard alot of people say that two females cannot get along. I really wanted a female yorkie and I was wondering if this is true |

| I do not think it is that they cannot get along, I just think that people on this forum have seen more success with female/male and male/male dogs. I think that if they are both spayed, they should be ok

| Oh, okay thanks =) I just want to make sure that I do not buy a puppy and then when it grows up they hate eachother =( http://www.chantalyorkshireterriers....20x%20400).jpg http://www.chantalyorkshireterriers....20x%20400).jpg http://www.chantalyorkshireterriers....20x%20400).jpg (I hope the images work) These are the three puppies that I like the most from this one breeder near my area.I haven't made any commitments to buying any of them but since this is a picture thread I figured I would show you the pictures on their site =P Last edited by PandaCakes; 09-21-2009 at 02:37 PM. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 3 female yorkies and had a female pom who passed earlier this year and they are fine. They have little tiffs but nothing serious. Mostly they play together and snuggle together. The puppies are all cute, my favorite is Libby. Keep us posted.

| Same! I love Libby, she is my favourite aswell. I told the breeder in the online application i prefered a male(assuming itd be better for my older dog) but I think that the next time she replies to my email I will ask her if I can purchase libby |

| I have never had a problem with same sex dogs fighting either. I think it all depends on the dogs and how you are with them, especially if they are not being bred. You said you have $3000 saved to buy a dog. Please also consider emergency medical care. Have money set aside in a savings account, buy a pet insurance policy, or apply for a dedicated Petcare credit card. This will make sure that no matter what happens, your little one does not have to go without or wait for medical care. The pictures you sent are adorable. If I had to pick just one....I think it would be Lucas. Maybe I am partial to the boys. But you really cannot tell just from a picture. Better to see them in person, so you can get an idea of their personality. Since you said the breeder was in your area, hope you will get a chance to see them in person and really get an idea of how they were raised. I think from the name on the link, you are using a respected Yorkietalk member for a breeder. Is she in Toronto? Best wishes to you in your choice!

| Nooo, I meant 3000 just to get it ready. I have more than enough money for medical care and anything else it needs. I have 10,000 in the bank and have a job, plus I have parents with a really good income aswell but I wouldnt make them pay for anything unless it was an emergency, but I highly doubt 10,000 will og down the drain that quickly. I am completely confident that the puppy will get the best care =P Also, my mom is rather fond of Lucas aswell. I am more concerned about the personality of the dog than the looks, looks is just a bonus hehe. The breeder emailed me and said next week she'll arrange an appointment with me so I can see the puppies and where they live. I want to see how they are cared for and the mother and father aswell. Oh wow, yeah she is from Toronto..she is a member? That would be humorous =P Last edited by PandaCakes; 09-21-2009 at 03:11 PM. |

Wow, you sound more than financially secure enough to provide for a puppy's needs. Much more so than the average 18 year old! Much more so than I was at 18! At that age all I could do was agree to feed the cat that decided, against my wishes, to live on my porch. Checking into how the puppy has been raised and it's environment is very important. I think there is going to be one lucky little puppy waiting for you! It will fun to watch as he or she grows up with you. Nothing like a Yorkie puppy!
