| Mike, just curious....why would you be disqualified if Eddie was wearing his harness? |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Just a rule for NADAC. Dogs have to run naked. I'm guessing it's a precaution so they don't catch collars or harnesses in any of the apparatuses.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Cute pics! I second (or third, or more) the vote on the xpen pic being a favorite. Though Lucky isn't 10 lbs, he and Eddie look to be built the same, stocky and solid as a rock. Eddie doesn't look to be 10 lbs....how tall is he? Lucky is probably standard height for a yorkie and weighs 7lb 11 ounces. He used to be 8lbs or more, but we got his weight down. He is so much more active now. Our vet says he could even be in the 6lb range, but with his build, IDK if we'll ever get there. It took about a year to get him down to what he is now.

I'm always stressing about his weight. My gut feeling is about 9.5 pounds would be ideal for him, but I haven't been able to get him to that weight. Others say his weight looks fine.

| Great job Eddie and LOVE those pictures Daddy The one with Eddie and you in the expen is my favorite. Of course I could ban you for posting toooooo cute pictures, but wait, we're not in that thread, so never mind On a serious note, Me and Nappy are going to start in foundation classes hopefully at the end of the summer and see how we do, then move on to the beginners classes. Right now I'm just kind of working with him on jumps and hoops, lol and some weaving through cones We may be looking to you and Eddie in the future for advice!!!

In the meantime, keep jumps LOW. When I started out, I thought it was macho to get him to jump over big jumps. He'd do 12". But in competition, they only need to do 4" or 8" max. Eddie picked up some bad habits jumping the big ones, so I'm limiting him to 4". It's not how how you go, it's how fast, and you don't want to make them frightened of anything. Keep it fun all the time.

Thanks for the tip on the jump height! I had to go out and measure the one we've been using, and it is at 8" and he does great, so I won't raise it any higher, although he would love for me to, lol I am trying to find little things to set up our own little practice course in the yard, can you tell me how far apart are those weavy sticks they have to weave through? is there a standard distance? If you don't mind me posting a couple pics in your thread, here's Nappy jumping the little jump we have set up, not great pics but just wanted to show what we're using

| What great pictures (again)!! I agree with the others, that 2nd picture is terrific. But I really love seeing Eddie's handsome face in that tongue shot, too!

MaryKay, that little jump is awesome! Nappy looks like a pro! The weave poles in my backyard are 20" between poles. I just checked guidelines for the North American Agility Council, and they say they have to be 20 minimum, 24 maximum. Not sure what AKC requires, but I would imagine it's the same.

| I always used to love seeing your pictures and videos . I haven't been on in a while but I remember how cute the limping video was! I'm going to start agility with my Yorkie soon. I won't be competing, but it'll be fun for him.
