In the meantime, keep jumps LOW. When I started out, I thought it was macho to get him to jump over big jumps. He'd do 12". But in competition, they only need to do 4" or 8" max. Eddie picked up some bad habits jumping the big ones, so I'm limiting him to 4". It's not how how you go, it's how fast, and you don't want to make them frightened of anything. Keep it fun all the time. |
Can't go to the meetup this year, not in the budget. But wish I was, since its only about 7 hours from me
Thanks for the tip on the jump height! I had to go out and measure the one we've been using, and it is at 8" and he does great, so I won't raise it any higher, although he would love for me to, lol
I am trying to find little things to set up our own little practice course in the yard, can you tell me how far apart are those weavy sticks they have to weave through? is there a standard distance?
